Team Leader Digital Creation @HUGOBOSS | Innovation & Technology Enthusiast | Passion for Female Empowerment
On February 17, 2022, I submitted my application for the open position of Team Lead Digital Creation at HUGO BOSS. At that time, I could not assess my chances of applying at all and foresee that an exciting new phase of my life would start at that moment. Relatively quickly, I realized that the requirements described were very similar to my professional experience and that I definitely wanted to take on this job. 😍 Thus, I was faced with the challenge of visually highlighting my skill combination via the application documents in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. Since it was my first real application after my internship application 7 years earlier, my experience was limited and I started a little research on how applications look like today. I quickly noticed the templates that were available for purchase, but they all looked the same and very impersonal. 😱 So I decided to create an individual application that is perfectly tailored to me, but which will also require a little more time and work on my part. 💪 Over 3 days I polished and edited my application documents over and over again. I clustered my professional experiences into 4 topics and to emphasize this particular combination, I also visualized them in a graphic. And as known: it worked out and opened the door to Hugo Boss for me. About 6 weeks later I signed the new employment contract. 🎉 So I can only recommend and strongly believe that application documents should be as #customized as possible, but at the same time be very #easy to read. If a position is really important to you: clarify why exactly YOU are the right person for this position and invest the time to make this clear. Then you will definitely stand out from the crowd! 🚀 🚀 🚀 #insidehugoboss #application #beyourownboss

"What you did, saw, and/or learned (good or bad) in your job/internship over the course of the semester that was beneficial for your future, would I be pleased with the way I performed at work this year if I were my manager? What are three tangible career goals I can set for myself for the Spring semester? What can I do to go above and beyond my job description for the Spring semester?" In the past semester I have been through many different career experiences, I spent a large majority of my time at Publix, where I learned and became proficient in many avenues of the retail industry. Unfortunately, I encountered an issue with getting hours, so I had to quit, and find employment at "Lee Wrangler." Here I used my Publix skills to keep up with my store, making sure everything was stocked and neatly folded. I also learned how to operate a cash register while at Lee Wrangler. If i were my manager at either spot of employment I would be ecstatic to have me on the team. I provide hard work and dedication to my job whilst also providing a friendly environment for my coworkers. In the future I plan to keep improving and reaching goals that I have set myself. for example, achieving a raise. I would also like to gain more experience in my work tasks, so I can become the best at them, to furthermore prove myself as a dependable and dedicated worker. finally, I would like to gain more hours Aswell. this would not only help me financially but also gain me the experience I need. Going above and beyond what I'm asked for is something I pride myself in. I go above and beyond with my effort, despite knowing other workers in my same position do less than me yet earn more. #RiverRidgeWBL #GeorgiaWBLworks

Marketing Magic Maker 🪄| Thumb-Stopping Social Media and Brand Strategist | Expert Goal-Setter | Customer Centric | Enthusiastic Teammate | D&I Advocator
11 years ago, my first job right out of college was being a sales associate at Nordstrom. It was 2013 and only a lucky few of my friends landed the type of dream jobs we all were hoping for right out of college. The high paying salary jobs that college makes you believe you will get hired for. The summer before I graduated I found myself frustrated that the only internships available were unpaid. How was I suppose to make any money? I came across the Nordstrom Internship, and out of 100s of applicants I was hired. The internship was an accelerator to being a department manager; they provided incredible leadership training. I fell in love with the culture, how they invested in growing their employees and promoting within and instilling the Nordstrom Way into my blood stream. Customers are the heart of Nordstrom and I fell in love with the customers, their stories, and how I could create moments of magic by helping them shop. I learned the Nordstrom way: 🧹If you have time to lean than you have time to clean ✨Leave it better than you found it 💖Always under promise and over deliver 💁🏼♀️Use my best judgement 📈Stack them high, watch them fly 💲You don’t sell anything from the backstock 👋Greet a customer within 60 seconds of them walking on your floor 🔄A return is an opportunity 🛍️Always walk a customer’s shopping bag around the cash wrap to hand it to the them. ✅ The customer is always right As a manager you operated your department like it was your name on the building. I would check our sales number every hour on the hour, so we could “make the day”, if we were down total $ sales we would work as a team to get it back up. Your floor was yours, from merchandising down to cleaning the dust bunnies and making sure your department passed the white glove test. I had a team that I helped to grow and train, I would would always work along side them, because that is what my mentors did with their floors. We were taught to never ask one of your employees to do something that you wouldn’t do, you were in the trenches with them. Everyone who works at Nordstrom starts as a sales associate, because working with customers so closely gives you the ability to really lead. Even back then I so badly wanted a job in marketing. Companies just didn’t see the value in social media yet. But I wouldn’t trade those first 3 years of my career with Nordstrom for anything. It wasn’t the sparkly and shiney job that some of fellow peers came out of college having, but I have carried the work ethic I learned there with me every step. The experience created an intregal foundation for me that has allowed me to become the leader that I am. #Nordstrom has positively impacted me forever. Once a Nordy Girl always a #NordyGirl 😉

From Candidate to Customer Back in 2014, our Hillsboro, Ohio office encountered a unique situation with two supervisors at a client company, each with a distinctly different approach to leadership. One was open-minded and willing to take chances on people’s potential, while the other was more focused on specific qualifications and skill sets when hiring. A Turn of Events Faced with persistent turnover, the latter supervisor eventually needed more dependable candidates. Despite his initial reluctance, he turned to our team at TRN for help. Enter Daniel, a candidate whose resume didn't scream "traditional fit." Daniel's professional experience was as a manager at Taco Bell, far from the manufacturing world. However, he naturally excelled at using hand tools to fix things, a skill he taught himself simply because he was curious. A Leap of Faith What Daniel lacked in conventional experience, he made up for with a strong interview and genuine eagerness to learn and grow. Our team saw something special in him and decided to take a chance, hoping the supervisor would see the same potential we did. A Story of Growth and Success The risk paid off. Daniel was brought on as an assembler in July of 2014, but his journey didn’t end there. Daniel’s hard work, willingness to learn, and commitment to doing his best allowed him to quickly move up the ranks. Flash forward to June of 2023 – Daniel’s exceptional performance earned him a well-deserved promotion to Production Supervisor. The best part? He now serves as one of our key contacts at his company. Beyond the Resume Daniel’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact of looking beyond a resume, the value of giving opportunities, and the incredible potential within each person to succeed. Daniel’s progression from candidate to customer highlights not just his personal growth, but also the enduring partnerships and mutual trust we strive to build with both our candidates and clients. #40YearLegacy #PoweredByPeople
