The Declaration of Independence We celebrate American Independence Day on the Fourth of July every year. We think of July 4, 1776, as a day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation. But July 4, 1776 wasn't the day that the Continental Congress decided to declare independence (they did that on July 2, 1776). It wasn’t the day we started the American Revolution either (that had happened back in April 1775). And it wasn't the day Thomas Jefferson wrote the first draft of the Declaration of Independence (that was in June 1776). Or the date on which the Declaration was delivered to Great Britain (that didn't happen until November 1776). Or the date it was signed (that was August 2, 1776).

🌹🇪🇺 🇬🇪 Blossoming Hope: Georgia's Aspiration for EU Candidate Status Regarding Georgia's journey to candidate status, some may argue against our European affiliation, citing geographic and cultural differences. However, for us—the young generation—obtaining this status signifies more than a geographic classification. It symbolizes Hope – hope for a brighter future, legislative changes, and the Westernization of our country. Hope for the day when we may reclaim the right to tread upon our ancestral land, Abkhazia. As the son of an internally displaced family, like many others, it brings hope to witness one day, with our own eyes the fabled beauty of Sokhumi's mandarin orchards by the Black Sea. A hope that extends to bringing our relatives or elders back to the places they once called home, where we can listen to the echoes of their tales from days gone by. In Georgia, we are all too familiar with the challenges of living under Russian influence, and 20% of our territories and a significant portion of our fellow citizens still bear the burden of our 'big brother's' covetous desires. Nevertheless, this candidate status instills hope for the eventual end of Russian imperialism in our future, marking a crucial step toward our political autonomy and geographical integrity. Let's hope our elected government chooses the people's symphony over any Russian dissonance. Gaumarjos Sakartvelos! 🇬🇪 🇪🇺🌹

I realize this is a little early to be thinking about July 4th, but here's something interesting about the date: While we celebrate on July 4th every year, however, September 3rd, 1783, is the actual date when the Treaty of Paris was signed, confirming the United States' victory and independence from Britain. So, why July 4th and not September 3rd? The answer lies in the power of intention. July 4th, 1776, is the day the Declaration of Independence was signed. It's the day our nation boldly declared its right to self-determination. September 3rd signifies the day our freedom was officially acknowledged by others. Here's the deal, true independence isn't about validation from others. It's about declaring your own path, your own values, and your own vision for the future. It's about taking that first, courageous step. True freedom comes not from external validation but from the courage to declare our own destiny with the determination to see it through. Don't expect everyone to agree with your plans and goals; true freedom and success lies in rising above the critics and forging your own destiny. Get determined. Get focused. And get ready to fight for your goals.... Remember, it took over 7 years of bloody battles, after we declared our independence, until it was finally recognized by Britain. But we celebrate the "Declaration", NOT the "recognition". Whatever you do... Never, never, NEVER EVER give up. #PowerOfIntention #Goals #NeverGIveUp #IndependenceDay #Intention #Motivation #SelfDetermination

American Revolution (1775-1783)? The American Revolution (1775-1783) marked the thirteen American colonies' struggle for independence from British rule. Tensions had been brewing due to issues like taxation without representation, restrictions on colonial trade, and increased control by the British Parliament. The conflict ignited with events like the Battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775, followed by the formal Declaration of Independence in 1776. The war involved key figures like George Washington leading the Continental Army and culminated in the Treaty of Paris in 1783, where Britain officially recognized American independence. The Revolution had far-reaching effects, establishing the United States as a sovereign nation founded on principles of democracy, individual rights, and limited government. It inspired movements for independence and democracy worldwide and laid the groundwork for the U.S. Constitution and its system of government. #csstudenthelp

Yesterday was Mexican Independence Day (September 16th). Let’s come together to commemorate the heroic struggle for independence and renew our commitment to uphold the values of freedom and democracy 🇲🇽. Mexican Independence Day teaches us that the course of history can be changed by small actions, bravery, courage, perseverance and kind hearts. As a Mexican living several years abroad and preparing to relocate outside of the United States to my next endeavor, it’s the perfect day to celebrate the victories of my ancestors and remembering that the only prison that we need to escape is the prison of our minds while we embrace and fight every change and use the challenges to evolve our life. It is important to remember that if you have a dream, you should guard it and not let anything take it away. A nation is not built on fear, rather a nation is built on courage and imagination and unbeatable determination to complete a job no matter how tough it is. “Regardless of the size of the city or town where men or women are born, they are finally the size of their work, the size of their will to magnify and enrich their brothers.” - Ignacio Allende Today, I raise my voice with the precious gift of freedom, and I strive to protect, support and persevere as an example to the future Mexican generations. Happy Independence Day, Mexico! May this day be a reminder of our nation’s legacy, resilience, diversity, cultural richness and pride. ¡Viva Mexico 🇲🇽! #mexicanindependenceday #proudtobemexican #siemens #siemensmobility #inclusionanddiversity #tomorrowwithus
