🌟 Embracing Every Moment: Cherishing Time with Our Children 🌟 As the summer days breeze by, I can't help but reflect on the meme circulating about having just 16 precious years with our children. 😲 While the rapid passing of time might give us a pause, it's also a powerful reminder of the importance of creating meaningful connections with our kids. This summer has flown by in the blink of an eye, and it's a gentle nudge for all of us to savor each moment we spend with our loved ones. It's true, time waits for no one, but the beauty lies in how we choose to utilise it. As a parent, I firmly believe that the quality of time spent with our children is what truly matters. Building strong relationships based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect can create a lasting impact that extends far beyond those initial 16 years. It's about fostering an environment where our children feel comfortable sharing their dreams, aspirations, and concerns. So, let's make an effort to be fully present in these fleeting moments. Let's engage in those heart-to-heart conversations, embark on adventures, and share hearty laughs. Let's show them that they are valued and cherished, and that they have our unwavering support in every step of their journey. As we bid adieu to another summer (in Scotland anyway!), let's carry forward the commitment to being more than just parents – let's be mentors, friends, and confidants. Let's invest in the relationships that will blossom into lifelong bonds, creating countless memories for years to come. Here's to making the most of the time we have, and to cultivating relationships that stand the test of time. 🌈 Let's keep the momentum going, shall we? #ParentingJourney #CherishEveryMoment #FamilyFirst #TimeFlies #BuildingBonds

🏡💼 Embracing the Spirit of Giving Back: Making Time for the Next Generation 🎯🌱 Dear LinkedIn community, As we find ourselves in the heart of the busiest time of the year in the home improvement industry, I want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of giving back and devoting time to the next generation. 🌟🤝 I recently had the opportunity to volunteer my time and talents with my church's young men's organization. We took them canoeing down a 7 mile stretch of the Cuyahoga River. They learned team work and cooperation, trust in God and truth, and that little efforts combined together create extraordinary results. 🏕️🛶 While our schedules may be packed with projects, deadlines, and countless to-do lists, it is crucial to remember that our success is not just measured by the number of tasks we complete, but by the positive impact we leave on those around us, especially the upcoming generation of young men who will be the leaders in our industry. 🌠👨🔧 Mentorship and guidance can make a world of difference in shaping young minds and helping them navigate their own paths to success. By sharing our knowledge, experiences, and insights, we can inspire and empower the next generation to achieve greatness. 🚀💡 I encourage each one of you, amidst the hustle and bustle of the season, to find a moment to contribute to the growth of our industry's future leaders. Whether it's taking time to be a dad to your son, volunteering at your local boys and girls club, serving in your church as a youth leader, or simply offering a few minutes of advice, every little effort counts! 🤗💬 Let's show the world that the home improvement industry not only excels in craftsmanship but also in cultivating hard work in our community. Together, we can build a brighter future for our world by giving back our knowledge, experience, and time.🌏 I'd love to hear your thoughts on how you're dedicating time to the next generation during this busy period. Share your experiences and let's inspire one another to create a lasting impact! 🌱🤝 #HomeImprovementIndustry #MentorshipMatters #GivingBack #NextGenerationLeadership #Empowerment #Inspiration #CommunityBuilding Let's make a difference together! 🙌🤝 Dave Johnson Account Manager Blue Fire Leads

“You’ll stay in contact with us baji, haina?” They asked. “Always!” I had all the stars glittering in my eyes. 16th December 2024 was marked as my last day at The Citizens Foundation Rahbar Program, where as a mentor my role was to inspire young minds to think of themselves as the creators of their own destiny rather than victims of their circumstances. However, what I didn't anticipate was just how much I would learn and get inspired in return. It was a revolutionary experience, to say the least. As I urged my mentees to embrace their potential and seize every opportunity, I was confronted with my own shortcomings and doubts. How many times had I told others to chase their dreams while silently harboring fears of failure? How often had I emphasized the virtues of resilience while grappling with my personal challenges? Yet, it was precisely this realization that fueled my growth as a mentor. Each time I shared a piece of advice, I was not only guiding my mentees but also confronting my own shortcomings. It was a constant reminder that mentorship is not about having all the answers but rather about embarking on a journey of self-discovery together. Through this process, I learned to be more honest and vulnerable with my mentees, sharing not just my successes but also my struggles. In doing so, I found that our bond deepened, and our conversations became more meaningful. Together, we navigated the complexities of life, offering support and encouragement every step of the way. Moreover, I can’t say how grateful I am to the wholesome people I met there. Thank you so much, Natasha Shaheen, Amatullah Saeed, Aliza Muhammad, Sumera Karim, Ripa and several others for making this journey an experience of a lifetime! In short, Rahbar wasn't just about mentorship as it was about more human connection and growth. It was about coming together as a community, lifting each other, and proving that no matter the challenges we face, we have the power to shape our own destinies and inspire others along the way. #volunteer #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth #professionaldevelopment #professionalgrowth #volunteering #communityengagement

🎉 Exciting news! Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry was just featured on WCSC-TV Live 5 Newsin celebration of our 5th birthday! 🎂 Here are 3 takeaways: 💫 What tends to surprise mentors the most? Bigs spend ~4 hours/month engaging in free and reduced-cost, casual activities with their Littles. Bigs are often surprised that all Littles want to do is spend time together one-on-one. 💫 Why do most of BBBSL's Bigs become mentors? Our Bigs are self-aware individuals who understand the power of mentorship firsthand. They know the difference a mentor can make because they've either had one themselves or recognized privileges they grew up with, like secure caregiver attachments. Putting a young person at the center of the mentorship experience is key, and that's exactly what our Bigs do. 💫 What kind of Bigs is BBBSL looking for? With boys making up 90% of our waiting list being boys, we're in need of more males and men of color to become Bigs. It truly takes all kinds of people to make a difference. What matters most is humility and openness. Interested in stepping forward to invest in a young person's potential? Watch https://ow.ly/bO2c50RzJRt to learn more about our program and visit https://ow.ly/VZsO50RzJRu to apply to become a Big! #BBBSLowcountry #MentorshipMatters #CommunitySupport

Three lessons you could learn from a place where "Everybody knows your name", as I catch up with old friend Brenna Nan Schneider for wings and beers in Boston: 1️⃣ Create a Welcoming Environment 🌟 Cheers is a place where everyone feels at home. 🏠 Whether it’s your workplace, social group, or community, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment helps build strong, lasting relationships. 2️⃣ Celebrate Individuality 🎉 The Cheers gang is a mix of diverse personalities, from Norm’s easygoing nature to Diane’s intellectual charm. Embracing and celebrating each person’s unique qualities enriches the group dynamic and strengthens bonds. 3️⃣ Be There for Each Other 🤗 Through ups and downs, the Cheers family always supports one another. Whether it’s lending an ear or offering a helping hand, being dependable and supportive is key to maintaining close friendships. Cheers to building your own family of friends! 🥂 And looking forward to building more friendships at EMP tomorrow Brian Brault! #FriendshipGoals #Community #Inclusivity #CelebrateDiversity #SupportSystem #CheersTV #LifeLessons
