Parkinson’s Disease affects more than 10 million people worldwide, and while there isn’t a cure yet, medication and lifestyle changes can make an impact on the symptoms. Michelle Hespeler, executive director of Beat Parkinson's Today, arms herself with exercise to fight Parkinson’s. BPD Today offers classes like yoga, weightlifting, and no-contact boxing — each ending with a meditation session. Families and caretakers can attend workshops and trainings to support their loved ones. "These clients taught me about what it means to have a winning mentality,” says Caroline Murray, a trainer at BPD Today. After teaming up with Bonterra, BPD Today raised over $7,000 on its first Giving Tuesday, empowering their teachers, fitness classes, and participants to fight the disease. Although 84% of donors say they’re more likely to give if a match is offered, it’s estimated that $4-7 billion in matching funds are left on the table each year. While it’s clear that matching gift programs can help boost employee participation and maximize support for nonprofits, many donors still fail to take advantage of this benefit. 3 ways that Bonterra can help you incentivize matching gift programs: https://lnkd.in/eXZneiFb
