in #singapore there are no limits to the number of #directorships you can hold. It of course leads to shady #corporategovernance issues, see below attached article. Furthermore lawfirms and lawyers here like to reccomend their own #chosen peeps to fulfill the requirement of a #nonexecutivedirector which to my mind is wrong as well ethically and professionally. The role of the nonexec director carries the same onerous duties as an executive director but people are usually greedy for the money and position as the #yesman and #silent #director as well as complete control which necessitates a silent partner.

DVA is not associated with this job posting Virtual Receptionist/Legal Intake Specialist https://lnkd.in/grzWN52N What does a day in the life of a Legal Intake Specialist look like? We are glad you asked! A typical Legal Intake Specialist takes about 90-120 calls per day. This is a very fast paced environment! Calls are typically back-to-back throughout the day. You are answering for about 60+ different law firms on any given day. This means each call is unique. One second you might be answering for a criminal attorney that has a potential new client on the line. The next call might be opposing counsel on a case wishing to speak with the attorney. Being confident is key! You never know what call is coming next. While you are going through your day you are supported by an exceptional team of Betties via our team chat. If you have a mean GIF game, you will fit right in! #jobseeker #jobsearch #jobs #job #jobseekers #hiring #jobsearching #recruitment #jobhunt #career #jobvacancy #jobinterview #employment #loker #nowhiring #jobboard #jobopportunity #recruiting #jobopening #resume #jobshiring #careers #work #interview #hiringnow #jobfair #recruiter #jobhunting #vacancy #jobseeking

I have a Chambers Clerk job advertised on my site. It is a simple ad, and at the end of the description, it states, email EOI directly to my Chambers email with a short, less than one page, covering letter. Not hard one may think. Well today, LinkedIn informs me there are a number of applicants. Oh I think. There are no emails received so far. No covering letter/s? It appears people have simply replied or sought to apply via linkedIn, which in fact I can not access their applications, even if I wanted to. The key component of the position, is communication and reading instructions. I think the issue has been identified here already. People complain there are no jobs. Please, just read the job ad and respond accordingly, to prove you can read and follow simple instructions. Prove to me you are not so lazy you can not even read the whole short ad and then do a simple test of sending a two paragraph letter by email? I think I will just go to the RSL and find some semi retired Chief Clerk who can do this job standing on one leg, while holding a brew, talking on the phone and knows ADF issues and can talk the talk. 😏

Dr. Sandeep Singh was a contractual professor in Punjabi University's law department for 11 years. He has done his PhD in law and has four Master's degrees in subjects including Punjabi, journalism and political science and is still pursuing studies. He left his job after facing hurdles such as salary cut and irregular pay. "I had to leave the job because I didn't use to get my salary on time and there was frequent pay cut. It had become difficult for me to make ends meet with that job. That's why I switched to selling vegetables for the survival of me and my family." With his vegetable cart and a board saying "PhD Sabzi Wala", Dr. Sandeep Singh goes home to home every day to sell vegetables. He says he earns more money by selling vegetables than he did as a professor. After a full day of work, he goes back home and studies for his exam. Even though he has taken a break from teaching, Dr. Sandeep Singh has not given up his passion. He aspires to save money and open his own tuition centre one day. via NDTV

India is grappling with a significant issue of underemployment, particularly seen in scenarios where Ph.D. graduates struggle to secure employment after being awarded, mainly because of the limited interest of students in fields beyond computer science. This situation has led to challenges in fair wages within management roles and difficulties for the government in allocating regular professorial positions. Additionally, there's a prevalent trend where Indians are more inclined towards embracing foreign cultures, studies, attire, and business concepts, sometimes overshadowing their inherent credibility, teaching, guidance, and values.
