As we return from another year visiting Portland, Oregon for the NAVEX Sales Kick Off, we've been tasked with reflecting on themes of the conference that were impactful - Reflecting being Step 1 of the 2-Step process to take action in 2024. While so much was impactful (the sessions, the hand shaking, the catching up and learning through networking) 3 Separate Session Points resonated the most for me: Point A: Minimize Distractions by Exercising Emotional Courage Point B: In a world filled with regulatory complexity, understand that the focus is on Accountability & Knowledge Point C: Silos are reflective of reactionary programs #NAVEXtravaganza2024

Some of the updates to look forward to: - Fully embracing the use of the singular “they”. 🌈 - Capitalizing full sentences following a colon. (Yay! 🙌🏻) - Capitalizing prepositions of 5+ words in title case (such as “about”). - No place of publication in references. (Thank goodness.) 🌍 - Capitalizing and italicizing "The" as part of a periodical name when used as part of the name rather than a generic article. (I mean, why on earth would you not do it? 😄) So it will be The New York Timesand no longer the New York Times. It will still be the Calgary Herald, since “the” is not part of the official name. - Dropping the hyphen in a lot of “e” compounds - ebook, esports, etc. E-bike remains hyphenated. 🚲 Source: From a post shared on Editors Association of Earth (FB).
