I started an executive recruiting firm (RISE Talent Acquisition) in January 2016 with NO experience in the space. 7 years later, here are 7 things I have learned: 1. Hiring / accepting an offer usually comes down to location and money. 2. Employees don't leave companies; they leave people. 3. Pay employees what they are worth, or another company will. 4. The most successful companies prioritize their employees. 5. Employees evaluate companies as much as companies evaluate their employees. When there is imbalance, one or the other loses out. 6. In the end, employees want to do good work, and be proud of their work. Companies need to embrace them and let them know when they are doing good work, and help them when they are not. 7.
