Successful installation of intelligent turnout demonstrators! 👏🚆 Under FP3-IAM4Rail WP10 (Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking), ADIF, voestalpine Railway Systems and #Ceit have successfully installed two intelligent turnout demonstrators. These innovative installations aim to implement a multi-source, multi-purpose intelligent asset management solution for railway infrastructure monitoring. Mixed traffic prototype 👇 ✅ From March 6th to 8th, a mixed traffic turnout demonstrator was installed on the Barcelona - Valencia line in Riffa, Tarragona, Catalonia. 📊 Four multi-sensors were installed to monitor vibrations in the switch and crossing areas, providing essential asset management and maintenance data. High-speed prototype 👇 ✅ Following the mixed traffic installation, a high-speed turnout on the Valencia-Madrid high-speed line was equipped with an advanced monitoring system. 📈 The team installed more than 30 sensors to monitor various usage cases and damage patterns, including swing nose, switch device, detector rod, track degradation and crack detection. Under FP3-IAM4Rail Work Package 10, ADIF, Ceit Centro Tecnológico and voestalpine Railway Systems have installed two intelligent turnout demonstrators. These demonstrators aim to implement a multi-source, multi-purpose intelligent asset management solution for railway infrastructure monitoring. A standard mixed traffic and a high-speed turnout have been equipped with novel monitoring technologies. The monitoring systems focus on tracking the health status of the turnouts, detecting and preventing faults, and assisting ADIF in maintaining the asset performance, availability, efficiency and safety of their infrastructure. Many thanks to the entire team that made the deployment of these use cases in ADIF's infrastructure possible, from the technologists to the ADIF Maintenance teams, who have been cooperative at all times. This is - by far - not the first electric propulsion unit we built. This one is special, since this motor marks a milestone on our journey to a product! My rationale: one approaches the technical challenges very differently when goal is product development. For just a one-off demonstrator, cost, producibility, reliability, and many other considerations can be sacrificed - for a product development, those goals need to be achieved and mastered. That you cannot see on a picture, yet makes a world of difference!
Our electric motor for the Urban Air Mobility market is being assembled at our labs in Munich, Germany. Our at-scale electric machine demonstrator will be tested and developed, building on our knowledge and expertise to incorporate learnings into subsequent designs that will power the future of Advanced Air Mobility. We have initiated the design of a sea rescue air drone and the deployment of a multi-motor electric powertrain. The solution has the ability to land and take off at sea for rescue purposes. The motors supplied for this application have an efficiency of around 90%. In the proof-of-concept (POF) phase, simulations have shown that the use of two motors compared with a single-motor system results in a 2% gain in power consumption. This is certainly not significant enough to cover the costs associated with a more complex mechanism. However, dual motorization is interesting in terms of safety. We plan to carry out a similar study for other applications. Aytac Demir Technical Manager AYOX Tech ps: first publication 12.09.2022 copyright 11.12.2023

BKM Holding showcased the C45700 Vitovt truck electro prime electric truck at the exhibition within the XI Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia. The truck received a more informative pasting. Now you can read about the components right on the body. Like the Eurasian еlectric bus, such a truck shows the potential of cooperation between the EAEU member states. The electric truck is equipped with traction batteries of its own production by BKM Holding, the power reserve at full load is at least 200 km, and the charging time is 90 minutes (when using two CCS Combo 2 connectors). The load capacity of the chassis is 10 tons, with an installed industrial body – 7.8 tons. Depending on the customer's requirements, it is possible to install any type of add-on. Dimensions –10,500 ×2600×4000 mm, van body volume – 44 m3, maximum speed – 90 km/h. The average power consumption is 1.1 kWh. The exhibition of vehicles was held from June 27 to June 30 at Svobody Square in Vitebsk. #trucks #electrictruck #electricvehicles #Vitebsk

Main rail speed records until 1956 Over nearly two centuries, rail systems, including trains, have undergone significant evolution. For reference, the current record, set on April 3, 2007, features a remarkable achievement by a French high-speed train (#TGV), reaching a speed of 574.8 km/h (356 mph) on conventional rails. This record-breaking run, executed by a modified TGV, occurred on a track between Paris and the eastern city of Strasbourg. Japan's L0 Series Maglev achieved a speed of 602 km/h (374 mph). It's noteworthy that Maglev, based on magnetic levitation, operates on a different principle, utilising magnets to elevate and propel the train, exploiting the absence of friction.
