This article makes me shake my head. 🤦🏾♂️ Imagine hearing “solutions” from the people who are part of the broken system. I don’t want to hear it! Parents and community members have been offering solutions for YEARS, yet are constantly kicked to the curb by Education Minnesota. When are they going to learn?? If we truly want to fix a broken system, we need to follow the lead of parents, not members of the teacher’s union. The teacher’s union has one goal and we all know what that is... to make more 💰💰💰 . #mneducation #publicschools #brokensystem https://lnkd.in/gYNTNJCi

As phonics and the science of reading gain prominence in states like Maryland, Illinois, and California, experts emphasize adaptable strategies for all learners. Dean Elson, Chief Knowledge Officer of literacy nonprofit Reading Partners, advocates for personalized approaches, including one-on-one support, guided oral reading, phonemic awareness instruction, and increased tutoring opportunities. Elson stresses the importance of district administrators and school leaders collaborating at the state level to integrate the science of reading into daily literacy instruction. Additionally, Elson highlights the significance of extending this instruction beyond classrooms by involving families. Empowering parents and caregivers with tools and resources aligns with the holistic approach to fostering literacy skills, creating a supportive ecosystem for effective learning. #LiteracyEducation #ScienceOfReading #EducationStrategies #EarlyLiteracy

Things that make you go, “hmm?” As a kid who was bussed to access a “better” public school, I am still torn by the question of why I had to leave my community to access that “better education?” This article speaks on a very real phenomenon of “educational redlining.” As a 19 year educator, I have also witnessed educational curriculum redlining where certain communities have greater access to high-quality curriculum and premium course options if you can afford the tuition or afford the zip-code. What are your thoughts?

Choosing a school is a big decision with a huge impact on your child’s future! Georgia families have access to various K-12 school options, including traditional public schools, public charter schools, private schools, online learning, homeschooling, and microschooling. Most children (84%) attend traditional public schools, which are free and funded by federal, state, and local governments. Open enrollment allows for some flexibility, letting families transfer their child to any public school within their district if space is available. #Microschooling is an innovative option where small groups of students learn together with personalized instruction. Examples in Georgia include KaiPod Learning, Moonrise in Decatur, and St. John Bosco Academy. The Georgia Promise Scholarship Act, effective for the 2025-2026 school year, will provide eligible students with a $6,500 scholarship, offering even more educational choices for families. Explore these options to find the best fit for your child's unique needs and interests. #SchoolChoice #EducationReform #GeorgiaEducation #Microschooling #PublicSchools #Homeschooling #K12Education #ParentsGuide #EducationalOptions #GeorgiaFamilies #FutureOfEducation
