Congratulations to Lauren Kersey, who was awarded a DAISY! Her nomination read, in part, “My granddaughter was a patient at Children’s…Lauren was kind and caring, and it showed. I appreciate so much the care and concern she showed…I am more than grateful she was my granddaughter’s nurse.”

Something I do not talk enough about is how I consider Papa to be a robust benefit. Through the same partnership, we address different needs that can directly impact a person’s access to health resources. Whether is transportation to and from the doctors, picking your medication, taking you to the grocery store, or even staying at home to clean and rearrange furniture. Think of what would happen if you could not keep your house clean, if you had no one to take you to an appointment, or if you had to survive with limited food in your pantry and worry it will run out before the end of the month. At Papa, we add a trusted human that genuinely wants to see you be the best version of yourself! When you have what you need to be and stay healthy, you thrive. #healthequity

Motivational Monday: Going the Extra Mile Where Your Job Doesn't Require You To In every job or role we take on, there are often expectations and responsibilities clearly defined by our job descriptions. However, the true mark of success and fulfillment often lies beyond these boundaries. Going the extra mile, even when it's not required, can lead to personal growth, satisfaction, and recognition. Contributing to a Greater Cause: Sometimes, going the extra mile isn't about personal gain but about contributing to a greater cause. It could be about helping your community, making a positive impact, or supporting a cause you believe in. Remember, going the extra mile is a personal choice. It doesn’t mean overextending yourself or neglecting your well-being. It’s about finding a balance and using your discretionary effort to make a positive difference. So, this Monday, and every day, consider the opportunities to go beyond the norm and make your mark. As you set out into the week, consider what extra you can bring to your role, team, or community. By doing so, you not only enrich your own experience but also contribute to the success and growth of those around you. #motivationmonday

Here is one of our favourite vet tech/ nurses! Mikayla is now on parental leave now. Popping in for training, social occasions and dental treatment for her pet. Here is what we discussed before she went on Parental leave. Check out our chat here! https://lnkd.in/g2J_Xci4 Are you having these discussions with your team so that they know that you want them to return? We want them to come back because they are amazing and know your systems, team, clients, patients, and culture. In fact, they helped build it! There are some challenges to returning to work when one has a small child; we make provisions for them. One of the biggest is childcare, and I know there is a 2-year waiting list in some areas! However, one of the greatest things happening is parental care, where the father can also take time off work to raise their children. Times are changing, and we are ensuring that Mikayla can come to our clinic if and when she chooses to. Our profession cannot afford to lose these amazing and highly dedicated vet techs/ nurses. Click here to chat about how you, too, can have such a dedicated team member. https://lnkd.in/geDXDTnY
