At the end of 2023, I had the opportunity to take part in a panel at NATO’s Industry conference in #Ottawa, which focused on several topics including NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) programme, innovation funding, and dual-use technologies. During the discussion, I had the chance to speak on the importance of cross-industry collaboration to the successful application of transformative dual-use technologies across the commercial and defence sectors. Various political, technological, and intra-military barriers can slow innovation in defence, and ultimately lock us into existing systems and operations. To drive real disruption in the industry, accessing new technologies and accelerating their rate of adoption at scale and pace is critical. It is at this nexus between legacy defence solutions and emerging technologies from faster moving, early adopting commercial markets that we’ll find true innovation. A great discussion with my fellow panelists - Steve Patrick, Kevin Ford, Jim Landon, Sean Roche, and Jeff Tasseron.
Chris Pogue happy to talk with you further on this from a NATO Industrial Advisory Group - #NIAG perspective. As well, sitting as Deputy-Chair of the relationship between NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and NIAG for industry overseeing #innovation , #C4ISR, #logistics & #sustainment, #MDO, and #DT , I’m sure there is quite a bit we can discuss
I was in attendance.. all panels very interesting..
Needed to brush-up on my Spice Girls after this Panel! Absolutely insightful and funny!
