His Royal Majesty, Oba N’Edo UkuAkpolokpolo Ewuare II of Benin, a king among king , His assertion that Benin people founded lagos had been Misinterpreted and taken out of context by Certain group and individual, who felt offended by the Monarch remarks, his Royal majesty was basically referencing historical fact, the Oba of benin was referring to Isale EKo, not the lagos Mainland and it Environs, importantly his Royal majesty err in his erroneous belief that, the benin founded or discovered lagos, instead of using the word they conquer and settled in isale EKo a major part of the lagoon island, the benin horde arrived and set up War camp in isale EKo, the Name EKo remains a living testimony of the historical presence of the benin occupation force during the late 15 century , the bini war troop only named the island as Isale EKo, not lagos and it Environs, it is a historical fact that the First Settler , who are the Aboriginal settler were the Aworis & ijebus. Olofin ogunfunimire an intrepid hunter from ile-ife lead an Awori Migration down through the Ogun river, he settled in present day isheri , his Co-traveller and Sons dispersed and founded iddo, Agege,Ado ota, Ogudu, Agboyi, irenpa, Ebutte-metta...... Aromire one of Olofin ogunfunimire founded Isale EKo where he Cultivate pepper farm and his subject engage in Fishing. So the Claim by Oba of benin that the benin founded lagos is incorrect, But it is historical fact that Benin war troop defeated the Aworis on the island, and established a War Camp , the Benin empire was expanding it territory during the 16 Century, at these time , the Empire was at peak, it was already a Formidable Maritime power in the bight of Benin, at this time the portuguese were already a Maritime trading partner with the Benin empire, Oba Orohobua (1550 to1578) Continue the expansionist policy of his Predecessor, Oba Orohobua was a learned king , he was educated by the portuguese jesuit school in portugal. During his Expansionist raid, he made the lagoon island , specifically isale EKo as a War Camp , he defeated the Aworis settler on the island, the War Camp 'EKo', became the name of the town, Which the king Portuguese Advisor renamed it Lagos, because of it lagoon System, the establishment of this War Camp on Lagos island appeared to have Marked the beginning of benin Control and influence in Lagos, the truth is benin influence and conquest introduce Dynastic development and Absolute Monarchy into lagos.

Greece's historical legacy, strategic location in the Mediterranean, extensive fleet ownership, robust maritime infrastructure, and supportive regulatory environment collectively contribute to its importance in the global maritime, shipping, and bunkering industry. Thus, Peninsula has been active in Athens since 2005. On March 25th, the Greeks celebrate their Independence Day. This day commemorates the start of the war of Independence in 1821 against the Ottoman Empire, which ultimately led to the establishment of modern Greece as an independent state. Haris Koulouris, a fellow colleague from our office in Athens, highlighted this is one of the most, if not the most, important national holidays in Greece, marked by various ceremonies, parades, and cultural events across the country. Greek Independence Day parades have military and civilian participation; and there are also flag-raising ceremonies, and special church services on the 25th March every year. Haris said many Greeks wear traditional costumes, especially children, and decorate streets with flags and banners. Additionally, cultural events such as concerts and exhibitions are common, along with family gatherings featuring traditional dishes. Haris described one that is delicious: bakaliaros and skordalia, which is salted cod accompanied with a garlic dipping sauce. The 25th March is an occasion for Greeks to come together every year to celebrate their history, culture, and national identity, as well as to honour the heroes who fought for their country's freedom. Haris is looking forward to spending this day with his family and watching the fireworks displays to end the day. #oneglobalteam #energyflowing #Greece #Mediterranean #fleet #maritime #regulatory #globalshipping #bunkering #Athens #bakaliaros #skordalia #Greek

NOT SHAMEFUL TO REMEMBER Memories of war enable our society to remember the past, to express appreciation to those who sacrificed their lives and willingly served our country. At the same time we also need to acknowledge and accept that on occasions, events and happenings from the past, which would be considered unnecessary today, occurred for significant and highly acceptable reasons. Those of us today should never feel guilt nor shame for these actions, which some are constantly demanding that we do. This is why we, as Australians, come together every ANZAC Day. We do it to commemorate the ANZAC’s and their achievements: we should remember them though, not as old soldiers from a forgotten war, but as the young Australians each of them were in 1915, when they left our shores to defend Australia. Remembering moments from our history allows us as a society to learn from them and to move forward in a positive and determined manner. We cannot change history and nor should we, but we can and should learn from it. Australians young and old, will always remember them.

Here is an interesting map circa 1750 that shows the territories controlled by France, Great Britain and Spain. Note the immense territory under the control of France, recognized as New France and generally consisting of the colonies of Canada, French Acadia, Louisiana and the "Pays d'en Hauts" (ie Upper Country). In terms of today's borders, this territory extended as far as the Gulf of Mexico to the south, Cape Breton Island to the east, and parts of Manitoba/Saskatchewan to the west. This obviously changed following the Seven Years' War in 1763 and this great North American kingdom of France was ceded to Great Britain (except the islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon).
