By Nvidia Eureka: Human-Level Reward Design via Coding Large Language Models A new AI agent that uses LLMs to automatically generate algorithms to train robots to accomplish complex tasks. Eureka bridges the gap between reasoning (coding) and dynamical control. It is a “hybrid-gradient architecture”: a black box, inference-only LLM instructs a white box, learnable neural network. The outer loop runs GPT-4 to refine a gradient-free reward function, while the inner loop runs gradient=based reinforcement learning to train a robot controller.
