End of year reflection I saw someone post about the type of work they would have done in an alternate universe. It made me think. Not about living and working in an alternate universe but about what else I might have done in this world and this lifetime. It made me reflect back on my younger days and of things I thought about doing or things that interested me a lot. My list is below. The jobs do not have too much in common but they all are aspects of me and my personality. And in some ways, I have incorporated traits for several of those jobs into my current work. Politician Urban planner Architect Priest Teacher B&B / hotel owner Corporate DEI head Pop singer Give it some thought. What else could have you done that made you happy? Here’s a brief overview of a career path: Starting Out: You are likely to start out in an entry-level post such as a Tenancy Support Officer, Housing Assistant, Customer Service Adviser, or Housing Administrator. These roles provide a solid foundation in understanding the housing sector. Gaining Experience: As you gain experience within the role, you will be able to advance to become a Housing Officer, Senior Housing Officer or Team Leader, based on experience and training. This involves taking on more responsibilities and managing larger portfolios of properties dealing directly with tenants and local community. Specialization: You could then specialize in an area of housing, Homelessness or Anti-Social Behaviour. Specialization allows you to focus on specific issues within the housing sector, providing targeted support to those who need it most. Management Roles: Progress into management roles, such as a Housing Manager or Director of Housing Services. These roles involve strategic planning, overseeing housing policies, and managing teams. Outcome – First day of work – Chapter 1 of a new job   "I am enjoying all my tasks in my new job as a Kerbside Management Officer with Secure Parking, there is not one task that I have difficulty with.
