Today, we celebrate 77 years of freedom. This is a day to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and to reaffirm our commitment to building a better future for our country. But true freedom is not just about political independence. It is also about having the freedom to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. This means taking care of our physical and mental health, being responsible citizens, and creating a clean environment. Here are a few ways that I celebrate my true freedom: 1. I make sure to eat healthy and exercise regularly. This helps me to stay physically and mentally fit, so that I can be the best version of myself. 2. I pay my taxes and vote in elections. This is my way of participating in the democratic process and making a difference in my community. 3. I reduce my waste. This helps to protect the environment and ensure a healthy future for generations to come. 4. I support local businesses. This helps to strengthen the community and boost the economy. 5. I am always at 110% to give back to society. How do you celebrate your true freedom? #HappyIndependenceDay #truefreedom #united

The Conservative Party has been consistently displaying xenophobia in the past year. Watching members of the party failing to condemn racism against Diane Abbott and Islamophobia against Sadiq Khan is beyond disgraceful and hypocritical. How can the British public trust a government that has been extreme with its actions, language and behaviours to thendefine extremism? The UK is now a subject of ridicule across the world. It is time to put an end to such political parties that only focus on their agenda and fill their pockets with taxpayers' money while the country is falling apart. Homelessness and food banks are on the rise. It is high time to take action. #UK #conservative #tories #rishisunak #racism #islamophobia #diabeabbott #sadiqkhan #xenophobia #extremism #extremist #action #elections #British #britain #unitedkingdom #ridicule #getrid #go #Labour #politics #vote https://lnkd.in/dqwiXxpa
If calling for Diane Abbott ‘to be shot’ isn’t racism, then what is?

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved people were free - over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in the long struggle for freedom and equality for African Americans. While the abolition of slavery was a major milestone, we know the journey towards racial justice is ongoing. On this day, we recommit ourselves to fighting racism, upholding human rights, and building a more equitable society for all. #rbwn #rocklandbwn #juneteenth2024 #equalityforall #racialjustice

On “Freedom’s Eve,” or the eve of January 1, 1863, the first Watch Night services took place. On that night, enslaved and free African Americans gathered in churches and private homes all across the country awaiting news that the Emancipation Proclamation had taken effect. At the stroke of midnight, prayers were answered as all enslaved people in Confederate States were declared legally free. Union soldiers, many of whom were black, marched onto plantations and across cities in the south reading small copies of the Emancipation Proclamation spreading the news of freedom in Confederate States. Only through the Thirteenth Amendment did emancipation end slavery throughout the United States. But not everyone in Confederate territory would immediately be free. Even though the Emancipation Proclamation was made effective in 1863, it could not be implemented in places still under Confederate control. As a result, in the westernmost Confederate state of Texas, enslaved people would not be free until much later. Freedom finally came on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth," by the newly freed people in Texas. #freedom #Juneteenth #katy #stafford #houston #houstontx #cypresstx ##missouricitytx

The security of the United States end of the western democracies must come first above all our petty political in fighting, and the use of our Congress to accomplish political aspirations instead of the defense of the nation. And yes, the defense of the nation does include supporting our allies around the world. The Republican parties, petty political rants is frightening, our allies, thinking that the United States no longer stands for freedom and self government, and they cannot continue these policies, without lying themselves with our enemies around the world! May God in our patriots, protect the United States of America from petty political nonsense…………. https://lnkd.in/davFe-S2
