Demand for transferable tax credits is growing quickly, and buyers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their approach to tax credit transactions. As a result, the market is also becoming increasingly competitive. Two-thirds of market participants are engaging in some form of competitive sales process. And as competition increases, standing out is imperative for sellers. Crux’s data show that there are common actions every project developer and manufacturer can take to make their credits more appealing – ultimately generating more bids and maximizing their value. Crux’s Alfred Johnson and Katie Bays talked to PV Tech about the fast-growing transferable tax credit market that has “blown the doors open.” They go deep on transferability, including Crux’s insights on pricing, competition, and deal dynamics. From Alfred: “The market for clean energy tax credits developed much more quickly than anticipated. The product is simpler and the base of buyers is significantly larger than existed for traditional tax equity.
