This weekend, we’re going to race across more than 200 miles through 15 towns on Cape Cod with up to 20-pounds on our backs… Sure, it SUCKS, but do you know what SUCKS even more? It SUCKS to lose someone you love because there were no programs or services available for veterans, who suffered silently after active duty.
According to recent surveys, almost 44 veterans kill themselves each day – and that’s 44 veterans a day way too many. The unintended consequences cut deep, reach far and last forever. No one should ever have to experience it, but, unfortunately, many do.
How can we help? We can support AMAZING organizations, like HEROES IN TRANSITION INC , that offer unique programs and services to build stronger relationships and better communities for veterans, active service members and their families.
***So, you may be thinking… If it SUCKS, then why do we do it? Simple. WE DO IT – and will continue to do it – FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T.***
Please consider supporting the cause.

My son Rex is one of the youngest participating in this year’s New York City SEAL Swim to raise money for The Navy SEAL Foundation which provides critical support for the warriors, veterans, and families of Naval Special Warfare.
This event consists of a mile run at the start, a total of 3.5 miles of swimming broken up by 3 stations where they complete 100 honor pushups and 22 pull ups, and a final mile run at the end to the World Trade Center.
Please consider helping him in his journey. https://lnkd.in/egt6Wibm
“Sworn to protect us from America’s foes. They operate under cover of darkness, against unimaginable odds. Not for status. Not for glory. But to defend our way of life. With strength, courage, and honor.”
Funds raised will help provide critical, evidence-based programs for SEALs and their families - programs designed to build strength and resilience, encourage optimal health, enhance opportunities for growth through education, and solidify a sense of community and belonging.
- $500 could fund travel for a wounded SEAL or Special Warfare Combat Crewmen (SWCC) in need of specialized care for their return to duty
- $250 could provide graduate-level test prep assistance for a transitioning SEAL or SWCC
- $150 could fund one session of grief counseling for a Gold Star family member
- $100 could pay for a physical rehabilitation session for a SEAL or SWCC
- $50 could cover two hours of Respite Child Care for one family of a deployed service member
- $25 could provide one meal for a Command Memorial
- $10 could fund 1 water bottle for an NSW kid at Summer Camp

Our Peer Support Program is here to help veterans—whether they're thriving or just getting by. After they leave the military, veterans may face any number of challenges.
Brain injuries, depression, disconnection, health issues, housing insecurity, isolation, substance use, suicide, and trauma—too often, veterans struggle in silence without a support network to lean on.
Our Peer Support Program gives veterans the kind of outreach and care they deserve. We take a holistic and unconditional approach to our mentoring to enrich veterans’ lives and put them on the path to success. Our Peer Mentors are veterans, too, so we understand what they’re going through. We know how to best connect veterans with the resources and services they need to flourish.
More than 8,500 services have been provided to 2,600+ veterans and military-connected family members so far in 2023.
Right now, our Peer Mentors serve veterans in 33 (of 62) counties across New York; and, with your support, our goal for 2024 is to add more veterans from more counties—to eventually reach every county in the state. Wherever veterans are, that’s where we will be.
As we look toward this holiday season, please consider Clear Path for Veterans in your end-of-year giving. Your contribution can make a real difference in the lives of those who’ve sacrificed so much for our nation.

Giving Tuesday is only a week away! Are you ready to start the Season of Giving? Why not start early?
This year, the Leader Transition Institute is raising $5000 to provide transitioning service members, veterans, and their spouses an opportunity to attend our flagship program, Changing Focus: Moving From We to Me at no cost to them.
Plus, generous corporate and individual donors are ready to match your donations to expand the impact of every dollar you share.
Will you join us? Even a small gift of $5 dollars makes a difference.
Military service members and their families struggle everyday adjusting back to civilian life.
Your contributions will help them find a path to figuring out who they are beyond the uniform, what they want to do with meaningful purpose, and what will make them happy.

Hi LinkedIn friends! I am taking on the Army-Navy 100 Mile Challenge. All donations, support, partnership, and accountability is encouraged, as I begin logging miles on Dec 1 but am accepting donations starting now!
Suicide rates among active-duty military members are currently at an all-time high since record-keeping began after 9/11 and have been increasing over the past five years at an alarmingly steady pace. In fact, some branches of the Armed Forces are experiencing the highest rate of suicides since before World War Il.
In 2021, research found that 30,177 active duty personnel and veterans who served in the military after 9/11 have died by suicide - compared to the 7,057 service members killed in combat in those same 20 years. That is, military suicide rates are four times higher than deaths that occurred during military operations. For military families and parents, whose active duty loved one already sacrifices so much to protect our freedom, this trend is extremely troubling.
l am not a runner but decided to take on this challenge to show solidarity with the brave people who continuously serve us everyday. 100 Miles is hard but it is nothing compared to the Mental Health struggle our service members often face. As a younger sister to an active service member who has mourned more than anyone should, it is important that we begin to have these hard conversations and offer support, even if we are just civilians.
Thank you for your support and donations!
