Michael has been an important part of the ISG team for seven years and directly engages with Partner Nations through Institutional Capacity Building (ICB) engagements.     Michael has an impressive academic background that includes a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Arts from Tulane University, and a Master of Arts from Escuela de Defensa Nacional, Argentina. Prior to retiring as a Colonel, He served 30 years in the US Army in a wide variety of policy, planning, diplomatic, and international Security Cooperation assignments.   DSCU’s ISG is the Department of Defense’s leading implementer for ICB and one of its primary international schoolhouses. ISG is charged with building partner institutional capacity and capability through tailored advising, education, and professional development programs grounded in American values and approaches.   DSCU is pleased to have Michael on our cross-functional and worldwide team of more than 450 dedicated professionals!   #dsca #dscu #isg #team

Congratulations to ten Locally Employed Staff (LES) members who recently completed DSCU’s week-long Intermediate LES Course at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The ten LES students represented nine U.S. embassies from across the globe. The course was facilitated by faculty from DSCU’s School of Security Cooperation Studies (SSCS) in coordination with the Defense SCO Institute (DSI).    The course built upon the basic LES course and provided a deeper and broader background in #SecurityCooperation management to LES personnel with increased responsibilities within a Security Cooperation Organization (SCO). The intermediate course supplied instruction on SCO roles and responsibilities; U.S. Security Cooperation legislation, policy, and procedures; whole of government planning; and in-depth training on advanced international training management. DSCU strives to be the center of intellectual life for the Security Cooperation enterprise; we prepare a global network of professionals to achieve outcomes that enhance the security of the United States and its partners and allies. DSCU’s newly established DSI serves as the Department of Defense SCO schoolhouse. SCO personnel are the primary representatives for Security Cooperation in their aligned country. DSI offers tailored education and training to SCO personnel, their families and locally employed staff.
