🌍 Excited to attend the UK/US New Green Shipping Corridor event as a guest of UK Honorary Consul of Ohio and friend, Sandra Morgan. We had a great discussion on the opportunities this initiative will bring to Northeast Ohio from an economic development perspective. Was great to also meet UK Deputy Consul General John Murphy and Alan Dowd, COO of Jenkins, based in Belfast. The Great Lakes Seaway (GLS) is an underutilized international waterway that connects the Port of Cleveland with key UK ports. This new green shipping corridor offers the potential of: 1. Sustainability: Achieve a 40-60% carbon reduction by eliminating rail/truck transport to/from the Midwest from the East Coast. 2. Reduced Shipping Time: Enjoy faster shipping times; 7-10 days from Cleveland to the UK compared to 2-3 weeks via traditional routes. 3. Supply Chain Resiliency: Enhance supply chain resiliency by reducing backlogs at large coastal ports. There are many steps to go before this becomes a reality, but with the great leadership at the Port of Cleveland led by William Friedman and Dave Gutheil, and collaboration with organizations like Team NEO, the British American Chamber of Commerce, Ohio and others, this has the potential for a major impact on the region and beyond! 🚢🌿 #GreenShipping #EconomicDevelopment #NortheastOhio #TeamNEO #UKUSCollaboration #Sustainability #SupplyChain #PortofCleveland #honoraryconsul #collaboration

🍃 R.A Jones has reached a significant milestone on our journey to sustainability! ☀️ On Wednesday, we celebrated the completion of the employee-driven solar panel project! During its 30-year life span, the system will offset 33,200 tons of atmospheric CO2, which is equivalent to planting nearly half a million trees. Employees from every department at the Covington, Kentucky facility came out to celebrate the occasion, along with representatives from Melink Solar and other local businesses. CEO Jonathon Titterton and the employees behind the project and event did the honor of cutting the ribbon on the project. 🏭 R.A Jones is the first Coesia company in North America to power its facility with a solar panel system, and it’s not stopping in Kentucky. The R.A Jones Davenport location will be next to switch to clean, solar energy, scheduled to be completed in 2025. As part of the Coesia group, R.A Jones is proud to take part in eCoesia efforts to provide responsible manufacturing solutions. By 2030, Coesia aims to source 100% of its electricity from renewable resources.
