We are honored by New York State Department of Labor’s decision to award Kodak up to $285,000 as part of their Apprenticeship Expansion Grant Program. The grant will help us create employment opportunities for tradespeople in a variety of roles. We relaunched our Apprenticeship Program in January 2020 to address the scarcity of candidates for jobs in skilled trades and to fill vacancies left by retiring veteran employees. Today, it has more than doubled in size. We look forward to putting this grant to work for current and future participants. More details: https://lnkd.in/ec3TymyW

World-class manufacturing leaders like Kodak have a responsibility to equip the next generation with these essential skills. We’re proud to be part of this program, helping increase employment opportunities with a focus on underrepresented communities.

I graduated from EK’s automation mechanic apprenticeship program in 1983. It was a stepping stone to me getting my electrical engineering degree at RIT. That EE degree was a stepping stone to a career in Engineering (followed by Operations) Management. I still use the troubleshooting skills I learned in that apprenticeship, every day. It was a fantastic program that changed my life.
