Yet another HUGE LabVIEW announcement at NIConnect this week! LabVIEW 2024 Q3 will ***keep your project/VIs saved in older binary version formats*** (so your colleagues don’t have to upgrade, too). You can even specify older version formats, as old LabVIEW 2017. Very cool and thanks NI! 😎 Backstory: About 1.5 years ago, I wrote about how this was one of the top issues impacting labview adoption and collaboration. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s asked for this, though, since it’s incredibly important. The behavior of the real-time system is defined primarily by configuring elements in a hierarchal structure in a “System Explorer” window. Other notable features include an intuitive UI editor; a text-based scripting language for programming auto-sequences; and, compatibility with LabVIEW and DIAdem.   This presentation provides an introduction to VeriStand and shows how it can be used very effectively in propulsion system testing.

With what version did you learn to program LabVIEW? My first version was LabVIEW 7, also called 7 Express with the introduction of Express VIs. I likely used some early version in college without realizing it was LabVIEW; but 7 was my first real introduction into graphical programming. It's incredible to see how far the capabilities of LabVIEW have come since version 7 - from the types of hardware that natively integrate, to the targets that can run LabVIEW code, to the applications that rely on LabVIEW to safely test or control things we all rely on, and to the community that continues to make LabVIEW better every day. Last week marked an exciting day in LabVIEW history with arguably the most requested feature in LabVIEW's history... ZOOM! Non-LabVIEW programmers won't get it. But for the rest of us, this is for us. Zoom is here to stay! May your wires be cleaner and easier to connect to sub-VI terminals! This is one of the first good summaries I have seen regarding simulation leveraging LLM's. Different than what is currently taking place in AI but simulation is a great application to which domain-specific LLM's can be applied.

              SUMMARY OF  LABVIEW CORE 1 -  VIDEO 9    BUILDING BASIC VI I learnt basically about the format of how a VI should should be created, There are three steps to ensure a well created VI - (A) Method of data acquisition (B) Analyzing Data (C) Visualizing Data. To perform all three operations we have in the controls in the short cut menu to use. Acquiring Data (VI to use) - DAQ Assistant - Instrument I/O Assistant - Simulate Signal - Read From Measurement File Analysing Data - Statistics - Tone Measurement - Filter - Amplitude and level Measurement Visualizing Data - Front Panel Indicator - Build Text - Write To Measurement File Exercise Create a simple VI that acquires, analyse and visualize data. Scenario: Acquire a sine wave of 0.1 seconds, determine the average value, log the data and display the sine wave on a graph. solution
