Great post to understand how lifting magnets work based on the thickness of materials being lifted. Biggest misconception is the bigger the magnet the better! It's about the right tool for the job! #liftingsolutions #safetyfirst #betterbyfar
MSA Magnetics provide both Active Shunting (Shallow Field) and Passive Shunting (Deep Field) Lifting Magnets. Lifting magnets will achieve different hold forces depending on the thickness of the steel they are in contact with. It is important to select your lifting magnet based on the weight and thickness of the material handled, as different types of lifting magnets have different capabilities. 📕 Vibration Dictionary: Tangential - In measuring tri-axial vibration in rotating machines, one of the sensitive axes of the transducer is tangent to the rotating shaft in question. It is perpendicular to the radial transducer, which is a direction toward and away from the center of the shaft. What is a Tilt test? A sample rock block containing a non-cohesive discontinuity plane is required to estimate the angle of friction in discontinuities. The rock sample is placed on an adjustable testing plane, separated along the surface where the roughness is to be measured. Then the plane is slowly tilted until the sample starts to slide. As soon as this occurs, the angle of the support plane is measured in relation to the horizontal, α, (Figure 1). https://lnkd.in/eJ5Pdwcb

A common question I am asked is, how many impressions before I need to replace my suction head. The quick answer would be to provide an impression range of roughly 150 million impressions. Impression counts aside, I prefer to ask is sheet arrival consistent? Are there Jerky movements in the suction head and universal shaft? Do you feel vibrations on the feeder? Is your feeder timing constantly changing? If the answer is yes to any of the questions, it may be time to replace the feeder head. Please contact me for additional information and detailed consultation.
