In-person meetings are back! Well, yes and no. The event landscape continues to shift since everything went virtual in 2020, and that attendance bump you experienced over the last year or two may not last. Participants are questioning the value of traveling and exhibitors and sponsors are demanding more return on their investment. Everyone is craving a better experience than the same old breakout panels and exhibit programs we’ve served up for years. This is the reason why I do what I do: I spoke at 6 events in April. Rooms filled with: •C-level executives •FT500 companies •Sustainability experts And the reactions have been stunning. Panels & keynotes are about delivery — as much as they are about prep work. Here's what I do to create lasting impressions: 1. Look at profiles of people who attend 2. Understand the audience's needs  3. Define what "success" looks like with organizers 4. Design perfect content for perfect moments 5. Dry run with Vanya, my speaker coach And of course: practice, practice, practice. What happens then is incredible: → People have fun and leave inspired → Attendees get actionable green tips → Organizers are happy and relieved  → I get booked right away again A client, Lizaveta, said: "It was a fantastic life experience". And that's why I do what I do. My goal is to get as many people into the circular economy as possible. I love it when I see the spark in the attendees's eyes. With CSR such a key focus for us all, recent research by @ConferenceLeeds came as quite a shock to me: 95% of delegates do not want to take part in activities of this nature. On the flip side, 37% seek out an engaging conference environment – the highest of all features listed. While this might appear as a concerning challenge, it in fact provides us with an opportunity. By avoiding a ‘tick box’ approach and giving CSR related activities the same level of creative and strategic treatment that all other elements of an event receive, we can educate, inspire, and do good.
