Bybit, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the winners of its first Inter-College Hackathon, which took place at the American University of Sharjah(AUS). 📌 The hackathon saw 63 students from 15 teams compete in two tracks: Literacy and Security. 📌 The winners of the Literacy track were 'Cyber ciphers', 'Team 7', and 'Code Comet (Sato_Bot)'. 📌 The winners of the Security track were 'WhiteHats', 'Cyber Guardians', and 'DEDSEC'. 📌 Bybit contributed AED 80,000 to the prize pool and established the Bybit Scholar Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit: "Our partnership with AUS and the remarkable talent displayed during the hackathon underlines our belief that the youth are the keystones of technological innovation." Dr. Imran Zualkernan, professor and head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at AUS: "Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence are key technologies to enable the UAE economy." Building a dAPP on Solana: Embarking on this project has been a tech enthusiast's dream. I'm immersed in Solana's blockchain, exploring the intricacies of decentralized finance (DeFi). Each day is about mastering smart contracts and navigating the unique aspects of a high-speed, secure blockchain environment. It's a challenging yet thrilling ride at the forefront of financial technology innovation. A huge thank you to Solana Foundation, Calyptus, and Hxro Labs! Joining CyberNow Labs Cohort 18: This feels like stepping into a new family of tech enthusiasts. Every session so far has been filled with learning and sharing, and I look forward to learning more with everyone! Minecraft Education Training: This has been an absolute delight! It's a reminder that learning can be fun and engaging. I'm eager to bring this playful and interactive approach to others. Major League Hacking Week and Microsoft Azure's Power Up Program: Being part of these platforms is more than just learning; it's about connecting with a community that shares my enthusiasm for tech. The Power Up Program is inspiring as it keeps me at the forefront of tech evolution. Cybersecurity Workforce Certification Training: Orientation was exciting, and I look forward to the upcoming AI/ML Certification Track! Earning the Ethical Hacker Badge: This was an incredibly immersive course, completing 34 hands-on activities using Kali Linux, WebSploit, and other tools, and at the same time, it goes into depth about compliance requirements, vulnerability assessments, and mitigation strategies. The BRB Bootcamp has been nothing but an exhilarating experience for me, immersing me in the world of Web3 and blockchain technology. Under the guidance of Zaryab Afsar and Aman Gupta, Kickstarted with in-depth understanding of the core by Aman and Advanced Solidity & Security Audits by Zayab. Through this program, I aim to develop an in-depth understanding of protocol engineering, smart contract development, security auditing, and core protocol development. These skills are paramount in navigating the ever-evolving landscape of Web3 and unlocking its full potential. Not only just aiming to develop but also writing the most optimized, well-written and most critically secured smart contracts which won't be vulnerable for any kind of security hacks During the bootcamp, my primary goals are to achieve consistency and excellence in every task, assignment, and project assigned to us builders and participants. I strive to push myself to new heights, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. Looking ahead, I plan to apply these acquired skills to create a vibrant community of builders, fostering collaboration and innovation within this space. CertiFlex Team's Success in the Aya (Techstars '23) Web3Bridge and Coinbase Hackathon 🏆 The team are thrilled to share that their team recently participated in the Aya, Web3Bridge, and Base Hackathon, a two-week hands-on event aimed at addressing critical challenges in Africa. The journey during this hackathon was truly remarkable, and here's an overview of their accomplishments. 🔧 Project Spotlight: CertiFlex Their team developed CertiFlex, a groundbreaking on-chain certificate issuance and verification platform. CertiFlex empowers organizations to issue certificates while retaining their unique designs. What sets CertiFlex apart is its ability to transform these certificates into soulbound NFTs, ensuring their authenticity. Each certificate is equipped with a distinctive verifiable signature, allowing for hassle-free verification. 📢 Hackathon Experience: Throughout the hackathon, they had an incredible experience. The event commenced with an inspiring opening call that officially marked the beginning of their project journey. They also benefited greatly from engaging workshops that enhanced their knowledge and skills. Despite facing the occasional challenge of Google Meet kicking them out every hour, they persevered. The team worked tirelessly, pouring hours of dedication into their project. 🏆 Victory and Future Endeavors: They are thrilled to announce that their hard work paid off, and they emerged as the winners of the hackathon! This achievement fills them with immense pride and motivation for their future endeavours. 📢 About the Hackathon: The Aya, Web3Bridge, and Base Hackathon was a platform where teams of 3 to 5 members came together to develop innovative web3 products aimed at addressing key issues in Africa. The prizes awarded included $3,000 for the overall winner, $2,500 for the first runner-up, and $1,500 for the second runner-up. Additionally, two other teams received $500 each for their outstanding contributions. They are deeply grateful for this opportunity and look forward to their next hackathon project. Their journey with CertiFlex has only just begun, and they are excited to continue making a positive impact through technology in the future.
