Sharing this with 3 random thoughts: 1) #1 & #2 in the leader quadrant will soon be the same company, which is completely TERRIBLE for the networking industry, because now... 2) Extreme is the only viable alternative left to keep the 2 800-lb gorillas honest, which leads to an interesting take on one of those gorillas... 3) According to Gartner, you're slightly better off using FORTINET for your wired & wireless LAN than Cisco. (Meru > Meraki ? I kid... maybe...) And if you do a historical look at the past several years of the Magic Quadrant, you see Cisco sliding inch by inch closer to being out of the leader quadrant. I've maintained for years that Cisco is no longer a visionary company - you get that way by continually buying other companies and failing to integrate them into a cohesive solution, which leads directly into a declining ability to execute. But if we keep having shrinkage in the networking vendor options (thanks to the HPE-Juniper acquisition), I guess it won't matter, now will it?

I'm thrilled to share that I've been featured in a Network World article by Michael Coomey discussing the game-changing impact of Smartswitches, specifically the HPE Aruba CX 10000, in bringing DPUs to the enterprise. 💼💡 In the article, I shared my insights on the future of networking, stating that as we move beyond traditional workloads to the realm of AI/ML, our networks must evolve beyond being mere conduits of data. 🌐 Traditional switching ASICs simply don't cut it anymore, lacking the necessary processing capacity and flexibility for implementing stateful network functions and services. This is where DPUs (Data Processing Units) come into play. Cisco is the leading supplier of internet hardware, including routers and security equipment. Their annual revenue is almost $70 billion. System Integrator channel partners generate a large part of their revenue. Last week, Cisco CEO and Chairman Chuck Robbins spoke at an industry conference, and this is what he told them: 'At the end of the day, what we ultimately want to do is quite simple: We just want to help make AI work for you. And we want to make AI work for us. And we want to help you get there in a responsible, safe way, and one that provides you the value that you can garner from all the data that you have in your enterprise organization,' says Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins.
