I am never the smartest person in the room. My sales team has an incredible pulse on the market, what our customers want, and how we can serve them best right now. I ask questions, they give their expertise, we move forward. Production is more aware than I'll ever be of material shortages, potential pipeline issues, code requirements, and the minutia of the deliverables on every. Single. Job. They work effectively and tirelessly (and I do mean tirelessly). Our office team can tell you from the front lines what people are experiencing, how they're feeling about it, and they are both kind and gracious in an industry where that can be challenging. (But really- isn't that Every industry)? 😉 If they don't know how to handle something, they ask intelligent questions; and that's the smartest thing I can imagine. When you have a wildly capable team of innovative, skilled, good humans, amazing things happen. Titles shouldn't matter in a healthy, thriving organization. My perspective and opinions are Not precious, and I'm not clutching my pearls at feedback that's totally opposing my own. I'm never the smartest person in the room - and I hope you're not either. Shameless plug to give us a call if you're in the Denver Metro and you're looking for an honest, free roofing report, no obligations. 😉 Residential or commercial - we're here when you need us. Did you feel that, Kansas City? That was a tremor. 📈 And that tremor was set off when the coffee cups of the two strongest forces in the Kansas City Sales community collided. It'll probably be on the news tonight. I really didn't know who I was dealing with before I met Michael E. Pyle for coffee this morning. After doing some research, I was a little worried our combined forces might just blow the roof off Black Dog Coffeehouse! Because everyone knows Chris Leon is Kansas City's Favorite Sales Engineer™️. But when I sat down to talk with Michael and learned what he's all about, I realized there's a whole other universe out there. A parallel state of being beyond my own, and the power of our combined minds completely blew me away. Michael opened up my eyes to sales excellence. I'm still in a state of shock. Where do we go from here? The stratosphere? The ionosphere? Because with Kansas City's Favorite Sales Engineer™️ and Michael Pyle as one guiding force, we could take the whole city by storm...right after the holidays! Bottom line: do yourself a favor and meet with Michael. You'll be glad you did! #kansascity #sales #salesengineer #financialplanning

“I can tell you what our goal is. Our goal is to make the best personal computers in the world and to make products that we are proud to sell and would recommend to our families and friends.” - Steve Jobs Every day presents a new puzzle, a chance to delve deeper into the unique needs of the Texas market. It’s not just about sales, it’s about understanding the heartbeat of each community, forging genuine relationships, and delivering solutions that stand the test of time. Being in this role has reinforced my belief that success is a blend of relentless pursuit and earnest listening. It’s about seeing the big picture, yet attending to the minutiae with precision and care. I often remind myself of Steve Jobs’ ethos - creating products we are proud to recommend to our families and friends. In a similar vein, every recommendation I make is rooted in a deep-seated commitment to quality and trust. It’s a commitment to align our solutions with the of Texas architectural practices, adhere to the stringent building codes for both new and existing g buildings, and uphold the high standards set by the Texas Board of Engineering. I’m not just representing a brand, I’m advocating for a standard of excellence that resonates with the integrity and ambition inherent in the Texan spirit. The journey is filled with challenges, but each one is an open invitation to evolve, learn, and refine our approach. It’s a a great expedition, filled with learning and plenty of opportunities for growth. 🏗️ 🚧 🛠️ “My operations team sells our next project” 💥 This came from a conversation I had with an industry leader in the #CurtainWall industry last week. It took us in the direction of discussing how a well-oiled Operations team can add serious horsepower to their Pre-Construction and Sales efforts. Selling is a key part of any business. But it’s not limited to the “Sales Department”. Delivering a well executed project, lays the foundation for your sales and pre-construction teams to have 1 foot in the door on that next big project! If you’re already in the door, then your Operations team can keep that door firmly shut to competitors who will always keep knocking 🚪 Having a cohesive team able to do their own version of selling throughout the project lifecycle is a huge competitive advantage ✅ #CurtainWall #Facades #Cladding #Operations #Construction #Glass #Glazing #PreConstruction #Sales #Selling

Around a week back I had the privilege of discussing an interesting subject with a group of professionals and subject matter experts in the Building Construction Industry. The question I put across was: "Is it possible to imagine the building construction Industry without Cement?" My trigger for this question was a video that I had come across (and had shared with the group) which displayed factory produced mobile houses that were made without using cement. Since I am not an expert on Building materials like cement or concrete, I posed this question to the group of around fifty-five professionals, to understand how it looks to them from the inside. I asked the group and invited a discussion. My curiosity largely lay around trying to understand what kind of change the industry was expecting in a span of ten to fifteen years and from which direction. After a considerable wait a member responded with a strong disagreement, dismissing the possibility that cement can be replaced. He countered that Cement is near irreplaceable if the project has to be technically and commercially viable. The primary reason being its rapid gain of strength, and ease of use. He cited several more technical facts and logic which of course I completely agreed with. But the moment we returned to the original question - Can we imagine an alternative if we did have to choose one- the denial resurfaced ever so strongly. And along with it a very stiff unwillingness to imagine While we discussed perspectives and counter perspectives to understand if the industry faced any challenges there, there was a powerful, a very palpable silence from the rest of the group. And I found this very surprising that, in spite of being experts and specialists, none of the other members participated or wished to contribute. Choosing to stay silent was a communication I did not miss, and I wanted to understand this better. So, I stretched the conversation a little more, drawing parallels and learnings from completely different industries. Of course, the disagreement rebounded with even greater force. Finally, a member was heard saying "hey you do you want us to leave? If this discussion continues, we will be forced to leave." Another complained that the discussion was tediously long and was not going anywhere. Both extraordinarily strong expressions of "Denial." And their very first contribution to this discussion was a reflection of their pain, their anger, and a strong rebuttal to the fact that such a discussion was even happening around them. My takeaway was a demonstration of how people respond to change particularly those that are not aligned to what they expect the future to be These are the same unmistakable signals that we should be watching for in our sales conversations too because it is here that we often ask our prospects to step out of their comfort zones which they have so carefully and tirelessly built over numerous years. https://lnkd.in/dsZvP5Yg

Today’s Staff Spotlight features Phil Dimopoulos, Contract Sales Consultant in Allmar’s Regina location. Working at Allmar for the last two and a half years, Phil is positive and enthusiastic about his role: “The opportunity to collaborate with contractors that do work in our region and the varying challenges every construction project has are what motivates me to be better every day. I honestly love my position, my coworkers, the company, and all that my job entails – and I’m not just saying that for the sake of this post!” When asked what he appreciates about the door and hardware industry, Phil commented: “…The fact that it’s everchanging and there are constantly things to learn…New innovative products, a range of needs specific to each project. The door & hardware industry in general is just a lot more interesting and vaster than one might think.” When asked what makes Allmar a good place to work, Phil indicated that: “It can be fast-paced and challenging, while at the same time the culture is laid back and everyone is great at supporting one another. There’s never a dull day, and I truly like coming to the office every day.” Fun facts about Phil: He's a member of a pop-punk band called The Disconnect, which is based in Regina. He also has two pups, Lucy and Olive! Do you have someone in mind who we should feature in our next month’s #AllmarStaffSpotlight?
