We are pleased to announce the first stage of the Green Energy Park journey. Today, at Gastech 2023 in Singapore, Bart Biebuyck, Tobias Puklavec, Mindaugas Zakaras and Mario Reinisch are introducing Green Energy Park Krk. With an initial capacity of 10 million tons of #ammonia throughput per year, Green Energy Park Krk is set to become the Gateway for renewable energy import into Central Europe. At completion of this development program, Green Energy Park Krk will be able to supply the industrial heartlands of Northern Italy, Southern Germany, and surrounding regions, with the equivalent of about 1,8 million tons of #hydrogen per year. This is nearly 18% of the European Union’s official import target of 10 million tons of hydrogen by 2030. With the energy transition gathering momentum, the world’s leading Gastech conference in Singapore is an excellent venue for introducing our 153ha renewable energy facility in the heart of Europe. Our property estate features a deep-water seaport, terminal facilities, storage assets, and a solar energy park. The staged development program will start ammonia trading through on-site bunker vessels, operating as a storage hub, until the completion of the first 100,000m3 purpose-built ammonia storage tank expected for mid-2027. We will announce the second stage of the Green Energy Park journey at the World Hydrogen Congress in Rotterdam, at the networking reception, on October 11. We hope to see you there! Keppel joins the United Nations in commemorating the International Day of Clean Energy on 26 January to raise awareness of the importance of transitioning to cleaner energy. Keppel was the first company in Singapore to import renewable energy and has imported some 270 GWh of low carbon electricity via the Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project to date. We are pioneering utility-scale power interconnection in ASEAN, developing projects that can potentially import up to 1.3 GW, or 35% of Singapore’s 4.0 GW low-carbon electricity importation target. The Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant, which we are developing, will be Singapore’s first hydrogen-ready power plant to be operational in 2026. As we continue to contribute to Singapore’s sustainable energy goals, we are also exploring alternative sources of low-carbon energy such as ammonia, hydrogen and bioenergy together with international industry partners. Tetiana Petrovska, Chief Marketing Officer in KNESS, delivered a speech at a panel discussion on the potential of RES development in Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic. The discussion focused on cross-border Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs) and the post-war recovery of Ukraine, with a special emphasis on renewable energy. The event was held in Katowice as part of ‘Green Energy for Business | Re-Source Poland Hub Central-Eastern Europe Conference 2024’. At the event, Tetiana highlighted the following points: 🔸 Ukraine's energy development prospects until 2030 involve decentralization and an active increase in the share of renewable energy sources, with wind, solar and hydro generation, as well as highly flexible and fast-launch facilities, bioenergy and energy storage facilities prevailing. 🔸 The legal framework for the RES development in Ukraine is being actively developed. In particular, the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050 has been approved, the National Energy and Climate Plan of Ukraine 2025-2030 has been developed, Law of Ukraine No. 3220-IX has come into force, which introduces positive changes for the RES sector, the implementation of the EU Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency Regulation (REMIT) is underway, and ways to further decentralization of electricity production are being developed, etc. 🔸 KNESS's initiatives and projects respond directly to the Ukraine's increasing need for sustainable energy solutions; in particular, the company is currently engaged in the development of wind power plants and energy storage facilities based on its own technological solution for the ancillary services market of the IPS of Ukraine, etc. 💬“Katowice has become a vital platform for exchanging valuable experience, ideas, technologies, and strategic visions to identify opportunities in the field of renewable energy from the perspectives of both producers and consumers of clean electricity. We discussed the best practices and innovations contributing to the balanced development of the economy and preserving the environment. It was truly gratifying to be among industry experts, business representatives, energy companies and associations, investment agencies and government officials. Such meetings allow us to identify new ways for development and partnership. After all, our actions today shape our tomorrow, and it depends on each of us whether it will be successful!” Tetiana shares her impressions. #kness_events #cleanenergy #renewables

I had the opportunity to present the new vision of Lithuania's energy sector until 2050 to Poland's business representatives. Lithuania strives for complete energy independence and we have a very clear vision of what Lithuanian energy will transform into in 2050. We have been dependent on fossil fuel and electricity imports, and only in recent years has the development of renewable energy gained new momentum, with the development of renewable energy resources growing at times and already exceeding the 2 GW mark. The pace of development of the sector will only accelerate, and by 2030 we aim to be fully energy-independent, and then become an electricity-exporting country. The main challenge - energy demand in 2050 for Lithuania will reach approximately 75 TWh (currently 13 TWh). Based on this vision, the Strategy for the Energy Independence of Lithuania will be created next year. #Lithuania2050 #energyindependence #energytransformation #energypolicy
