For the second time GW Highways have trialed the all-electric Paver – SD1800W E from Dynapac UK, this time on one of our schemes for Brent Council.  The SD1800W E produces zero carbon emissions at point of use. Inner cities account for 60% of the global greenhouse gas emissions. The SD1800W E has an electro-hydraulic system, where the diesel engine and gearbox were replaced within an axial flux electric motor directly powering the hydraulic pumps. The SD1800W E reduces noise levels by 20%, another environmental benefit when working in urban areas.     Luke Wenham, Highways Director said, “The Z. ERA paver is a great push towards an emission free workplace and will have a place alongside hydrogen and alternative fuel driven engines. We need the charging infrastructure expanded in the United Kingdom to make these machines a viable choice in reducing our carbon footprint in the highway’s industry.”    Climate change is one of the most serious threats facing global society. We all need to make every effort to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we can; GW Highways are proud to be leading the industry in this necessary change.  #Brent #GWH #Dynapac #Highways #NetZero #CarbonNeutralNow Donato Campanaro
