What do we all think about award winning buildings that turn out to have significant issues…say for example they have combustible cladding on them.   Should these awards from various industry organisations be pulled? What if the award is a few years old…say within the last 10 years.   One reason I ask is that I have come across this situation a number of times and these awards are front and centre (regardless of the year they were awarded) when the property or apartments in the property are being sold on. They also still feature prominently on the architects or builders website as examples of their work - to attract new business and showcase their past performance. Should the industry organisations be informed so they can pull the awards? #selflearning London Bridge: The London Bridge is a historic bridge that spans the River Thames in London, England. The current crossing, which opened to traffic in 1973, is a box girder bridge built from concrete and steel. The original London Bridge was built in the 12th century and was replaced by a new bridge in the 19th century. The construction of the new bridge was carried out using the cantilever method, with segments being built outward from two piers, each segment tied to the previous one by high-strength steel tendons. In the center, the two cantilevers did not meet but stopped short, leaving a space into which the builders placed a concrete beam to complete the span. The Tower Bridge, another iconic bridge in London, was built between 1886 and 1894 and is a bridge that combines two systems, swingarm and suspension .
