Katlego Dinake is quickly making waves in the pharmaceutical world, and her determination to positively impact healthcare is truly inspiring.
Katlego recently joined Novartis South Africa as a Marketing Trainee, and she understands what it takes for a young person to enter the pharmaceutical field.
So, as we celebrate Women’s Month, we asked Katlego a few questions about her experiences in the industry so far:
➡️ What motivated you to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry?
✅ I’ve always had an interest in healthcare. I am passionate about making a positive impact on people’s health and well-being. Working in pharmaceutical marketing allows me to contribute to the development and promotion of life-saving medicines.
So, for women who are passionate about healthcare and making a difference in patients’ lives, pursuing a career in this field can be fulfilling and inspiring.
➡️ What challenges do women in the industry continue to face?
✅ Women in any industry often face unique challenges, including gender bias, unequal opportunities for career advancement, and work-life balance concerns. By promoting and creating a culture of diversity and inclusion within the workplace environment, providing mentorship programs, establishing policies that support a healthy work-life balance, and actively recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of women in the industry, we can help to address gender biases and ensure equal opportunities for all, especially women.
Here’s to Katlego and the other young women shaping the future of medicine. May your career journey be filled with success!
