In the closing session of HSMAI’s Commercial Strategy Conference, attendees heard from Denise Thomas, Founder and Owner, The Effective Communication Coach, on Mastering the Art of Communication: Transformative Strategies for Commercial Leaders. “When you are communicating, do not underestimate the power of meeting people where they are at,” Thomas said. “I want to emphasize the power and importance of knowing the difference between impact and intent.” She encouraged attendees to ask themselves: Is the way that I am communicating really going to help to get the desired outcome met? The travel and hospitality service industry is at the peak of change, whether it is pricing or experiences. All of us in the industry should not underestimate the power of communicating to bring out the best in each other, and Thomas provided attendees with strategies and tools to foster effective communication within their teams. #HSMAICSC24 #HSMAI

Strategic Corporate Communications Executive | Integrated Communications Strategist | Creating Narratives that Clearly Articulate Purpose and Business Direction
The 2023 Edelman Future of Corporate Communications Study confirms what many of us on the inside have noticed: Communication leaders have a more influential seat at the table than ever before. As we chart the course for 2024, communication leaders should not only acknowledge this influence but also strategically leverage it to drive positive outcomes. Here are three considerations, outside the traditional communication strategy approaches, as we navigate the evolving landscape: 1. Develop comprehensive crisis communication plans that anticipate potential challenges. Conduct regular simulations to test the effectiveness of crisis response strategies. 2. Build and nurture talent. Invest in professional development opportunities for the communication team and foster a culture of continuous learning to stay ahead of industry changes. 3. Stay attuned to geopolitical and global economic trends that may impact the business. What would you add? #MessagingThatMatters #Leadership Link: https://lnkd.in/gpbG4sAQ
