#Pride month across the corporate world needs to be a moment where companies demonstrate that we walk the walk as well as talk the talk on #LGBT+ #inclusion. It has to be more that great events and new logos. So it is great to see Clifford Chance being named the top organisation by Windō in their transparency analysis. Windo have been working with Out & Equal on the metrics. Transparency is utterly essential for advancing inclusion for #LGBTQ+ people. We are an invisible population group (except when we step out of course!) so transparency by our employers is key to creating visibility, raising awareness, measuring success and also sending a clear message to #lgbt+ people that we are seen and valued in our workplaces. The metric also allows us to see even when we are doing well there is more to do and we need to use moments like this as a springboard to more action rather than just taking a bow. 🌈Our final inclusivity tip of the week is: the importance of taking a stand against hate. While hosting training courses and establishing anti-hate policies is a good place to start, it alone isn’t enough if it’s never put into practice and the beliefs aren't there to back it up. In addition to this, as the leader of a team or company, you lead by example. Therefore, by demonstrating your own dedication to inclusivity by taking a stand, you will encourage others to do the same. This series of posts was created to celebrate Pride month, but these tips are things that we should all be doing every day of the year.
