When I was looking for new CHT's or Nurses to join our staff I had to work to get them to join our team. It wasn't just post on the internet, and read resumes. I went to job fairs, colleges, networked anywhere I could. It doesn't stop there though. Once I got them interested in working with us, I made sure they knew our culture, our mission, and all the perks of working for a smaller company. It was also communicating with them along the entire process. Calling them, or emailing and checking in and making sure all questions were answered. Together we created a relationship. I knew showing off what you can offer the candidate, the extra benefits, work life balance, and a good culture were the reasons they accepted our offer, even if the salary was less. Now for the BUT, my job wasn't done. Once they started, onboarding was so very important in making them feel welcome and help with the transition into the team. Checking in, hearing their feelings about how they feel transition is going. Honest feedback, and communication are key to getting your candidate. I love the relationships I built in these roles. I still am in contact with many of those I hired. #opentowork #wanttowork #careerchange
