Good morning, Game Day Fans, We all love a great game and for many we love having our kids involved in competitive sports. The cost of competitive sports for children can be quite expensive. On average, families spend around $700 per year on each child's athletic participation, with some sports reaching into several thousands of dollars a year. Factors contributing to these costs include registration fees, equipment, travel expenses, and coaching. To help offset these costs and promote local businesses, Love Your Calendar offers the service - Game Day Calendars. We make a custom Game Day Calendar that you will love! Here is how it works: You take donations from your local community and in return we add their company logo and contact on your Game Day Calendar. All proceeds are yours to keep which goes to help pay for the team's expenses. Advertising opportunities on your Game Day Calendar can be quite beneficial as it raises money for your child's team and puts the team schedule in front of your local community. Everybody loves a great Game Day Calendar to plan travel and see the schedule coming up and everybody will Love Your Calendar with local advertising! Have a great Super Bowl Sunday! Peace and Love, PJ #gameday #sports #football #baseball #basketball #trackandfield #soccer #golf #gaming #love #family #friends https://lnkd.in/g4F3TwaJ

The business of football (soccer to my American friends) is fascinating, exhilarating and often precarious. I’ve been on the board of Lancaster City FC (one of the world’s oldest football clubs, established 1911) for almost two years now. Lancaster is a small northern city on the west coast of the UK. Manchester is the nearest big footballing name, about an hour away down the M6 motorway. I went to University in Lancaster almost 30 years ago, which is how I got involved in the club again. We’re in the Northern Premier League, seven leagues down from the Premiership, and three leagues below the Hollywood fairytale of Wrexham. But the realities of non-league football for most clubs don’t end with Ryan Reynolds buying your club. Every week is a constant battle to keep the financial wolf from the door. Our sponsorship, gate and diner revenue is all up 30% over the last two years, and yet we still struggle to make ends meet with a multi-thousand pound defecif to manage due to rising energy costs, business rates, ground maintenance and player wages. And we’re one of the buoyant ones! Marske FC, peers in the Northern Premier League, have recently taken drastic action to recoup costs, effectively demoting themselves to the league below to give them a hope of surviving financially (cheaper players, less league-mandated ground upgrades required etc). That’s no surprise to me. Balancing fan expectations, overspending managers, player ambitions and financial realities is a real eye-opener in terms of what it takes to keep a non-league football club afloat. And their importance goes well beyond sport. These are institutions at the heart of communities - they keep people together and give neighbourhoods a collective purpose through good times and bad. They create social cohesion among strangers, combatting loneliness, forging friendships and building support networks that translate into huge social benefits that often go unacknowledged by local councils and politicians. This season alone, Lancaster has engaged hundreds of schoolchildren, refugees and vulnerable groups, to give them a sense of belonging, aspiration, support, and purpose beyond the daily grind. And it’s all done by volunteers - there are no fat cats creaming off the profits here. In fact, there are no profits at all - only debts! It’s a precarious situation that local councils should be more attune to and supportive of. These local sporting institutions, central to the community, give back so much and yet are constantly on a knife-edge, drawing on the good will of volunteers and donations to keep them afloat - whether that’s the board members, the lady on the gate, or the unseen hours of the people digging the pitch or cleaning the diner oven. So thank you to the volunteers, the part-timers and the giver-uppers. Without you, these local football clubs would be knocked down and replaced with your next out of town multi-story car park. 👇

Not even the anticipation of the Matildas win could distract Luminary, Hardhat and Devotion from our Fred's Big Run Agency Challenge last week. We’re on a mission to run/walk to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation, and if we happen to beat a couple of agency friends... then so be it 😉 Week 2 saw Hardhat take the lead, averaging 51.4km/person in just two weeks, leaving Luminary and Devotion in the dust to fight it out for second place, with only a few kilometres between us at 32.5km (Luminary) and 36.4km (Devotion). Hardhat, you will need more than a hard hat to hold your place at the top. We're going to make up that difference! Are you with us, Devotion? Here are some quick stats for those playing at home: 🏃♂️Luminary - $9,658, 1,738kms across 50 team members 🏃♂️Devotion - $2,297, 517kms across 13 team members 🏃♂️Hardhat - $1,089, 411kms across 8 team members Week 3, LET'S GO! 💪 #FredsBigRun #FBRAgencyChallenge

Take a few minutes to watch this powerful video on Living Donor Awareness!
Three cheers to the Cincinnati Reds for allowing us to host a Living Donor Awareness Game at their stadium on July 19. With their help, we were able to honor living donors, educate fans about living donation and inspire many to consider becoming a living donor. In a pre-game ceremony, we honored two living donor liver pairs (brothers Justin Ketron and Derek Boyer and mother Belinda Horan and her 7 year old son, Xander), Wake Forest Demon Deacon Baseball Coach Tom Walter (who donated one of his kidneys to a player) and Dr. Anna Peters, Associate Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Before the game, the brothers appeared on Fox 19's morning show and had the fun of throwing out the first pitch. Enjoy this short video which captures the event highlights. Go Reds!

Marketing & community relationship building to differentiate independent businesses. Call/Text 585-657-7096 for help.
Do you just write checks to sponsor local teams and causes? Do you need a partner who can help you leverage the gift of money into real support for the cause and raise awareness of your own support? Most funeral homes are very generous and say "yes" to writing a check for almost everything they get asked for from students and not for profits. The thing is, most people have no idea. Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home in Weirton, WV sponsored the Weir High School Girls' Soccer team. They got on a win streak that didn't stop, and came by the funeral home with a signed, game-played ball from their most recent victory. They won their sectionals, and then the regionals, and are now off to the semi-finals as they head to state championship. Now Greco-Hertnick is helping fan support for the team's final games and championship support. Do you need help building and leveraging community relationships? Call/text/DM me for a free preview of what an Outcompete strategy can do to help you stay in front of your community. 585-657-7096 or https://lnkd.in/gPMRDHf9 #marketing #funeralhome #funeralhomemarketing #outcompete

added gofundme as it's been requested ;) https://gofund.me/463f8783 Would you be willing to help Kingsdale Academy raise funds to replace our stage? All while doing your regular day to day shopping? For every new user we get a $5 bonus on top of the regular % paid out. if 3k people did this, we would immediately raise enough money to replace the stage. Wild right? Walmart, esso, provigo, IGA to name a few. A stage isn’t just pieces of wood, it’s an experience to promote confidence, the arts, learning public speaking, even plays and concerts. Unfortunately, the cost of a new stage is 15k and the school simply doesn't have the budget for it. We would greatly appreciate those few minutes needed to do this Group code is B26PYK https://lnkd.in/eZfDGUi2

I work with fundraising leaders to help quiet the chaos, define clear development strategies and achieve sustained revenue results. Classical music geek. 🎻🎶
Development Professionals are not sloths. We do however move very methodically and strategically I’m order to achieve long-term success. Some more thoughts on this below.
Successful Development Professionals are methodical and strategic. We don’t rush (except when we’re under a deadline for a gala or something), instead taking a slow and steady approach to our work. When Development Professionals rush, mistakes happen and donations are lost! We’re planners. We think ahead, sometimes waaaay ahead. At one org I worked at, I had the date set and booked for our annual golf tournament 3 years in advance!! And I drove the president crazy when I insisted we start looking for our next honorees, the day after our last dinner (actually 2 days because I always took time to recharge the day after our major gala). So, when people complain that we move like sloths, it’s not because we don’t know what we’re doing; it’s because we know precisely what we’re doing and working through it the way it needs to be done to be as effective as we know it will be!
