Advocate, MMH Writer, PPP Survivor, X’s 2, unknown ACES, unavailable to doctors & missing from medical records to adequately diagnose, treat and bring to a timely recovery!
Such wonderful work being done by so many! One of those I recently came across is “Pospartum Peace of Mind”! I love, luv the name! And …. Peaceful motherhood is so important! It’s vital to ease the transition for pregnant women, from - single self - to a mother-child bond. What better way is there than to bring peace of mind, for the smallest things first - things that are so essential to feeling good about their not-so-good new role of being called “Mom”! With each potential step forward, there will be setbacks, because not all medical disciplines are included within maternal healthcare. Endocrinologists need to be included! Hormones are after all within the endocrine system of glands that need to work together for positive outcomes. Let’s work toward equity, quality and medical parity on behalf of all women.
Today, I had a new Mom reach out to me and confide that she is unable to afford groceries, better yet postpartum hygiene supplies... Another shared that she recently had to choose between diapers and pads at the store, and she chose diapers. This is unacceptable. We need your help. We have just launched an EMERGENCY fundraiser to support new mamas as they face serious barriers to their care and to RAISE AWARENESS about these barriers. If you can, PLEASE give. The link for the fundraiser is: https://lnkd.in/gN9kHV7k We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit so any donations are tax deductible. If you are not in the position to give, please SHARE THIS POST! #give #fundraiser #mama #health #wellness #help #support #postpartum #care #human #need #community #maternalhealth #blackmaternalhealth #peace #peaceofmind #safety

**Urgent Call for Help: Buddy's Road to Recovery Needs You** We have an important update on Buddy’s condition. Our vet visited the shelter and determined that Buddy’s wound was too severe to leave open, so suturing was necessary. Though it was a challenging process, we had to gently restrain Buddy to ensure he remained safe during the procedure. Buddy’s resilience continues to inspire us, but his journey to recovery is far from over. The suturing was a critical step, but he still requires ongoing care and support to heal fully. This is where we need your help more than ever. Your generosity has been a lifeline for Buddy, and we are profoundly grateful. However, the costs of his medical treatment and continued care are significant. Please consider donating, sharing Buddy’s story, and encouraging others to contribute. Every bit of support brings Buddy closer to a pain-free, happy life. Thank you for standing by Buddy’s side and for your unwavering compassion. Karen Manzo Karen England Sonya Kunkle H K. National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 18 – 24, 2023, and draws attention to the issue of diaper need in the U.S. A signature initiative of the National Diaper Bank Network launched in 2012, the National Diaper Need Awareness Week provides individuals, organizations, communities, and elected officials the opportunity to engage in real talk and simple actions. By working together we can ensure that all babies have access to clean diapers and other basic necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential. One in two U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. Here are a few things you can do to participate: - Host a diaper drive and donate to your favorite nonprofit organization, such as The Treehouse. - The Treehouse is always in need of size 4, 5 and 6 diapers. - Request proclamations from elected officials. - Engage in Real Talk on social media via #EndDiaperNeed and #BasicsArentBasic - Make a donation to NDBN and/or a local diaper program.
