If I was interested in running for office, the first person I would've primaried is any individual who cannot accept responsibility for their actions. You would think that the prank that Congressman Jamaal Bowman executed by pulling that fire alarm and pretending he knew nothing, only to be caught with his hand on camera in the cookie jar, pulling the alarm is really unbecoming. When you're supposedly deemed a leader in the people's house and your behavior reflects the outhouse, you need to no longer represent the people of your Congressional District. I think the Congressman needs to step aside and let's find someone whose behavior reflects their desire to serve their constituents. There seem to be an issue especially with us in New York, and our inability to send representatives in good standing as reflected in the impeccable nature of our minority leader and my Congressman The Honorable Hakeem Jefferies. I suggest that not only Congressman Jamaal Bowman do the Honorable thing and step down but he comes to the floor and apologize to the body. Let us lead by example regardless if the other side doesn't. I support an ethics probe and disciplinary actions. Now we have to clean up New York because we have enough problems of our own right here and the questionable character of some of the men in Leadership that call New York their home. We have to be held to the required standard needed to serve those we took an oath to defend. Frank Hestor is cited as having said about Dianne Abbott, "You just want to hate all Black women...She should be shot." Why is this important, and why should I care? Well, as a person who studies and has a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership and who has a specific interest in the implications of culture and race on leadership, I'm highly interested. Hestor, who is a major donator to the conservative party in the UK, weilds enormous influence, even if it's because of financial power. This influence makes him a leader, a destructive leader at that (more on destructive leadership tomorrow). Leadership is a process and paradigm that is governed by behavior and actions. His proclamation that his ill-acquired disdain for Abbott erected a desire of universal hatred for all Black women is vile, destructive, and offers permission to his followers to emulate such repugnant behavior. Moreover, his words prescribe/suggest violence, which could lead to death against her. Leaders must be held accountable. His overt proclamation could have led to a follower inflicting harm on Abbott. Hester has since apologized. Just so it's clear, apology not accepted from this Black woman, because you sentenced me to hatred because you dislike or disagree with another Black woman. He suggested she should be shot like an animal without use. Keep the fake apology. You meant what you said. Moving from a mindset of entitlement to accountability is one of the most freeing things you can possibly do.  When we think we are owed something, we live in resentment. We are letting others dictate how we feel. When we hold ourselves accountable and look at what we can be doing, we have the freedom to move how we want and no one left to blame but ourselves.
