Director at Building Talent Recruitment - 0403 915 522 - steve@buildingtalent.com.au - Recruiting the best talent within engineering design consultancies
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a dynamic networking event for recruiters, hosted by JobAdder and featuring an enlightening presentation by Greg Savage. The session delved into the current state of the recruitment market and provided invaluable trends and insights that the industry is showcasing. One resounding theme was the bustling activity across most industries - the market remains incredibly busy. As a recruiter deeply engaged with the engineering and construction sectors, I can confirm that these industries, in particular, are thriving with high demand for talent. A crucial aspect of our success as recruiters lies in partnering with exceptional businesses, and I consider myself fortunate to collaborate with numerous outstanding companies. The trust bestowed upon me as a recruiter for these organisations drives my passion to deliver top-tier results. The event emphasised the importance of sharing ideas, fostering collaboration, and championing our respective sectors. It’s essential to stay informed with the latest data and engage in meaningful conversations with other business owners and recruitment professionals. Embracing fresh insights and ideas not only boosts our practices but also drives positive change within our industry. In summary, the networking event was truly enlightening, reminding me of the power of collaboration and the importance of staying informed and connected within our professional community. I believe that by fostering this spirit of camaraderie, we can collectively thrive and drive transformative impact in the recruitment landscape. #RecruitmentInsights #Networking #Collaboration

Another great chat at the Recruitment Agency Expo with Luke Patterson from The Access Group and our MD Alex Dick! If there is one thing we can take away from this chat it’s definitely Lukes's words of wisdom when it comes to your recruitment career: “Don’t forget the basics” (Apart from peanut butter and the Foo Fighters CD’s of course...) Focus on building real connections, understanding your customer's needs, and nurturing relationships 🤝 Remember, these basics are the keys to a successful, long-term career in recruitment. #recruitmentexpo #interview #recruitmentevent

"Don't ask to meet us. If there's any reason we need to meet you, we'll let you know" - actual quote from a clients' recruitment ToBs from George Booth's post yesterday. Would you tell your doctor "don't ask me to come in for an appointment, if I need to see you, I'll let you know"? For clarity, I in no way think my Desmond in international relations from UWE and my experience in recruitment should give me a level of authority in any way similar to that of a medical professional, but the principle is ultimately the same when you break it down... You're engaging a professional to do something which you can't do as well as they can (at least at that moment in time), maybe you should allow the professional to tell you what they need in order to help you? If you want the best skilled people, who are the best suited personalities to your business and who will add the most value over the longest period of time, then meeting the the individuals who will go to market and represent your business in sourcing said people is pretty important in my opinion... But hey, what do I know?

Turning Farmers 👨🏻🌾 into Hunters 🦈 | Accelerating the Performance of Recruiters and Recruitment Leaders through Innovative Training, Coaching and Mentoring | Recruitment Training | NLP Training | Coaching
Once upon a time, there was a recruitment consultant named Sarah, who had worked in the industry for almost 4 years. 👩🏼 She was well-versed in the ins and outs of the business and had built a decent network of clients and candidates over the years. But despite her experience, Sarah was struggling to bring in new business. Her once-loyal clients were starting to go elsewhere, and she couldn't seem to get any new ones. 🤦🏼♀️ One day, Sarah asked her boss to enrol her onto the Business Development Masterclass. 🙋🏼♀️ At the masterclass, she learned amazing things, including: 1️⃣ The 12 steps to winning new business 🏅 2️⃣ Powerful questions to ask your clients (and the prospects that aren’t yet clients) ❓ 3️⃣ Re-engage your lapsed clients with a fool proof script 📄 4️⃣ 3 step strategy for account expansion 📈 With her newfound knowledge, Sarah started putting these strategies into practice. She made a list of potential clients and started reaching out to them one by one. She crafted a compelling pitch that highlighted her strengths as a recruiter and the benefits of working with her. And to her surprise, it worked! 👩🏼💻📲 Soon enough, Sarah started bringing in new clients left, right and centre! Her once-sparse pipeline was now packed, and she was feeling more confident and fulfilled than ever before. 🎉 Sarah was now in high demand! She continued developing and refining her skills, and her business continued to grow. 🚀 In the end, Sarah learned that with the right knowledge and skills, she could overcome any obstacle in her path. She was grateful for the masterclass that had taught her how to bring in new business, and she knew that she would continue to use those skills for years to come. 🏆 Disclaimer: This story is entirely fictitious. That said, there is a Business Development Masterclass, it is on 21st February and it will accelerate your BD! Send me a DM for full details.
