Last month, we hosted our annual Cities & Sports Business Luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street, raising over $1.3 million for the Museum of the City of New York. Over 400 guests from the worlds of sports, media, culture, and business joined us for an engaging discussion on how sports can drive economic development for cities.
Stephanie Hill Wilchfort, Ronay Menschel Director and President of the Museum, highlighted the Museum’s unique opportunity to showcase how sports drive economic growth and foster social connections. NYC’s Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development, Maria Torres-Springer, emphasized the significant impact of sports venues like Yankee Stadium and Madison Square Garden on the city’s vitality.
The event featured a dynamic panel discussion moderated by James G. Dinan, Co-Owner of the Milwaukee Bucks. Panelists included David Blitzer (Co-Owner, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Guardians, Crystal Palace Premier League, Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals), Jon Ledecky (Co-Owner, NY Islanders), Stephen M. Ross (Chairman, Related Companies; Owner, Miami Dolphins), Chris Stadler (Managing Partner, CVC Capital), and Clara Wu Tsai (Governor, New York Liberty; Owner, Brooklyn Nets; Vice Chair, BSE). They shared their insights on the pivotal role of sports in urban growth and community development.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our mission.
