🚀🔋 "𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐭𝐗" 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🚀🔋   The structure and final content for the PtX “how-to” guideline was established on Monday 3 June. It was no small task, as we had to work our way through a draft of 150+ pages. But the milestone was achieved, and we are another step closer to the guideline’s release in September 2024.    The Safer and Faster PtX-project is dedicated to safer and faster implementation of land-based PtX-technologies in Denmark. In other words, getting there quicker, but not losing the focus on safety. The “how-to” guideline will therefore tell us about both the human and technical activities that influence the acceptance of PtX-technologies.     A big thank you to all the partners and stakeholders in the project. 🚀 Exciting Announcement: Official Launch of the ENERGIZE Industrial Energy Communities Project! 🌍 We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the ENERGIZE project, which commenced on July 1st. The first consortium meeting was successfully held on July 3rd and 4th at DFactory Barcelona, with the invaluable support of SIMBIOSY. What is ENERGIZE? ⚡ Funded by the LIFE Programme, ENERGIZE aims to demonstrate the feasibility of cooperative energy models in selected industrial areas across the EU, tackling governance, legal, and financial challenges. Project Goals: - Demonstrate Feasibility: Prove the viability of cooperative energy models in key industrial regions: Manresa (Spain), Valsesia (Italy), Zlín (Czech Republic), and Upper Austria (Austria). - Promote Energy Cooperation: Foster energy collaboration among industrial entities. - Reduce Emissions: Achieve a reduction of 930 tCO2eq emissions during the project by promoting renewable energy and resource optimization. Presenting the Project! Part two – The Project Partners Cluster Tweed (BE) Cluster TWEED is an association aiming to promote renewable energies and technologies in the Walloon region. We have more than 200 members who are mainly private companies but also public entities and universities. In our cluster, we have grouped different topics to form 5 ecosystems. One ecosystem is dedicated to hydrogen and is called H2hub Wallonia. Furthermore, the cluster TWEED and the Waterstofnet, a Flemish cluster dedicated to hydrogen technologies, are joining forces to create a national entity, the Belgian Hydrogen Council. Thus, for hydrogen, our cluster also carries out national actions to promote the hydrogen value chain in Belgium. Aviotec is attentive to #ESG (environmental, social, and governance) considerations to respect our Planet. Thanks to our photovoltaic system equipped with more then 100 KW of power, we are able to produce electricity from renewable sources. In the Green ICT program Nordic Batteries has partnered with Beyonder and PowerUP Energy Technologies to develop and build a zero-emission power supply. We have built a module with our BMS and Beyonder's cells and connected this to a fuel cell from PowerUP. Last week we successfully tested the first prototype of the solution in our facilities in Kongsberg. This achievement marks a remarkable leap towards achieving zero-emission energy solutions. Our shared objective within this project is to develop a cutting-edge fuel cell-based generator supported by high power batteries. This innovation can provide clean energy solutions to industries and construction sites, ensuring uninterrupted power supply and paving the way for a more sustainable future. Looking forward to continue this cooperation and contribute to building the Norwegian battery value chain and the green shift. Bright Renewables and HyGear, both part of the HoSt Group, together with the University of Twente, are set to construct Benelux’s first #emethanol system. Their joint project, ‘Towards Acceleration and Demonstration of E-Methanol’ (TANDEM), has received a total subsidy of nearly €4 million, covering half of the total €8 million investment.   The project targets the development of technology for producing e-methanol, a sustainable fuel alternative to conventional fuels for heavy-duty transport, including ships and aviation. Spanning a total of four years, the project is set to produce its initial batch of renewable methanol by the third quarter of 2025.   In this consortium, Bright Renewables is developing the #methanol reactor technology, HyGear is providing a 1-MW #electrolyser with PEM technology, and the University of Twente is researching #heatexchange, vital for the process, and the most optimal way for scaling up the project using a twin-test reactor. Of the total €4 million subsidy provided, €600,000 is allocated specifically for the university’s research.   The system with a capacity of 500 tons per year of grade AA e-methanol will be constructed at the site of HyGear in Arnhem, the Netherlands. There, it will utilize captured CO₂ and electricity sourced from unsubsidised #solar and #wind power produced within the Netherlands. This e-methanol system is for smaller-scale use and can be set up near local solar or wind farms. It can utilize sustainable electricity directly, helping to reduce grid congestion issues. Annually, the system can produce enough sustainable fuel for a large inland ship to travel 30,000 km with 10,000 containers.
