How can African startups balance agility with accountability as we navigate the second half of 2024? This burning question was the central theme of our SOTIA H1 2024 live launch event last Friday. Our incredible panel moderated by Nubi Kay', (Startup programs lead Paystack), included: ◻ Christine Namara (Partner, Flat6labs' Africa Seedfund) ◻Matthew Davis (Co-CEO, Renew Capital) ◻'Tola Onayemi (CEO, Norebase) ◻Oluwatamilore Sowunmi (Associate, Aluko & Oyebode) Their diverse perspectives shed light on the ecosystem's "growing pains" – a crucial phase that demands a rethinking of corporate governance practices and procedures. These insights aren't just food for thought – but a call to action for everyone invested in Africa's tech future. Here are some quotes that sum up the session 👇 Want to learn more about the numbers behind these trends? Download our report here: https://lnkd.in/d5vv5Kp6

This year, our Justice Accelerator program supports 17 outstanding startups through funding, training, and coaching. Each venture partaking in the program contributes to #PeopleCentredJustice by resolving or preventing people’s justice needs. From #Tunisia, we would like to introduce ARSELA Technologies's “E-citoyen.tn”. E-citoyen.tn is a product owned by Arsela. It is an online platform in Tunisia that promotes citizen engagement and facilitates government-citizen interaction. It serves as a digital gateway for citizens to access various municipal services. According to the 2023 Justice Needs and Satisfaction survey in Tunisia (available on our website), public services disputes or challenges are the number one legal problem faced by Tunisians. By allowing citizens to provide feedback, suggestions, or file complaints about public services they have received, E-citoyen.tn enhances accountability and improves the quality of public services through citizen participation. Learn more about E-citoyen.tn and discover their commitment to making a positive impact on #PeopleCentredJustice: https://lnkd.in/dQbAzCVx

It’s tomorrow! “Tech the Justice Gap” is happening tomorrow. Shall we quickly review the highlights? We have 10 speakers coming from not only Tunisia but the rest of the world. And you should definitely not miss them. We’ll have two panel discussions. The first will explore emerging technologies and how they can impact access to Justice whereas the second will explore the collaboration between Governments, Investors, Startups, Lawyers and Organisations to understand how this ecosystem of people coming from different backgrounds can work together to achieve people-centred justice. Last, but definitely not least, we’ll witness 17 startups pitching the startups that are solving justice problems in Tunisia, Kenya, Nigeria, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt. Together with our esteemed jury, who represent the 3 regions we work in, we’ll select 3 winners of the Innovating Justice Award. This is your last chance to participate in a one-of-a-kind justice-tech event! Are you in Tunis? "The choice we made from the very beginning in establishing our investment thesis was to create value for all stakeholders: our investors, our startups, and our regional ecosystem. We are convinced that our region is brimming with talent. As the founders of 216 Capital are themselves from the Tunisian diaspora in Europe, it was important for us to support entrepreneurs from this diaspora in exploring opportunities in Africa and the Middle East." 🔵 Discover the rest of the article on the following link 👉 https://lnkd.in/dRGh3daF 🔵Learn more about us 👉 https://216capital.vc/
