🚁 Breaking New Ground: Airbus Helicopters Pioneers Support for Floating Wind Farms! 🌬️ In a groundbreaking world-premier trial, Airbus Helicopters, in collaboration with partners (HTM Helicopter Travel Munich GmbH), has showcased the crucial role helicopters play in supporting floating wind farms. The successful trial, featuring the versatile H135 and H145, proves that helicopters are key assets for transporting technicians and cargo to floating wind farms, even in challenging conditions with 30 knots of wind and a sea state of 6. My personal experience in simulating winching operations from helicopters, even in favorable weather conditions, underscores the complexity of such maneuvers. The innovative use of simulators has already revealed challenges that demand precision and expertise. As we analyze the data collected during these flights, we are not just establishing standard operating procedures; we are overcoming challenges to redefine safety and efficiency in offshore wind farm operations. 🚁 They Fly With Us : Pioneering Wind Turbine Inspections 2015! 🚁 As early as 2015, Flying-Cam embarked on a groundbreaking pilot project using our unmanned helicopters for wind turbine inspections, setting a pioneering precedent in the industry. Initially, the market favored smaller drones, conducting inspections one turbine at a time, predominantly within Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) operations. Today, with regulatory advancements accommodating larger drones, our unmanned helicopters, SARAH and DISCOVERY, offer enhanced payload capacity and extended flight times. The design of duel feeder lines (Looped Headers) is an advanced system for hydrants that allows for fuel circulation. The hydrant system loops are supplied by two headers, which offer significant benefits in terms of commissioning, flushing, maintenance, and fuel quality. By utilising two feeder lines, the capacity of the system may be maximised to meet high fuel demands at peak hours. Additionally, this setup serves as a redundancy in case one line undergoes integrity testing or experiences an unexpected outage. A turbofan or fanjet is a type of air breathing jet engine widely used in aviation. The term "turbofan" is a reference to the combination of previous generation turbojet engine technology and the additional fan stage. It consists of a gas turbine engine that derives mechanical power from combustion, and a ducted fan that uses mechanical power from the gas turbine to force air backward. Thus, whereas all of the air taken in by a turbojet passes through the combustion chamber and turbine, a portion of that air in a turbofan bypasses these elements. Thus a turbofan can be thought of as a turbojet used to drive a ducted fan, both of which contribute to thrust.
