In 3 weeks time, We (Bharath kumar Cimbili and Mingquan Bao ) will be presenting 3 papers at #EuMW2023 (European Microwave Week) conference at Berlin. All the 3 papers will be presented on the Day 1 (Monday 17th September) of the conference. If you are around, please do drop by to our talks. 1. In our First paper, we demonstrate one of the compact (2.5 mm2 area) watt-level E-band (63-73 GHz) Power Amplifier. 2. In our second paper, we demonstrate the record power-added-efficiency of 32% along with a saturated output power of 2.7W for a E-band (68-76 GHz) Power Amplifier. 3. In the third and final paper, a high-power density (2.5 W/mm) V-band (59-71 GHz) Power Amplifier designed using GaN150 nm technology (First demonstration of this technology) from Fraunhofer IAF, extracting the performance beyond the cut-off frequency (40 GHz) of this technology, will be presented. This is also the first 150nm GaN-SiC technology from Europe demonstrating such a performance in V-band. Above 2 PAs are designed using GaN 100 nm technology from Fraunhofer IAF. Last two papers are result of the research conducted in MyWave: Efficient Millimetre-Wave Communications for Mobile Users project. https://lnkd.in/eedzjDSK #EuMW2023 #Fraunhofer #IAF #GaN #technology #Eband #mmic #PA #5G #backhaul #Mywave

We're thrilled to share our latest research published in IEEE Access "Experimental Investigation of 5G Base Station functionalities in Reverberation Chamber at Millimeter-Wave" by Michele Colombo, Riccardo Diamanti, Luca Bastianelli, Gabriele Gradoni, Emanuel Colella, Valter Mariani Primiani, Franco Moglie and Davide Micheli https://lnkd.in/dax7VAWb In this paper we explored the performance and functionalities of a commercial #5G #basestation inside the #reverberationchamber at the #mmWave frequency range. Key Highlights: Investigation of the base station capability to operates in different propagation environment conditions reproduced by the #reverberationchamber. #Throughput, modulation code scheme and #beamforming are analyzed for different real life scenarios both in uplink and downlink. Our experimental results inform network operators in their evaluation of the base station operation: i) in many scenarios within a laboratory; ii) in the assessment of whether expected benefit justifies the additional costs in an operating actual network. This research is a step forward in our journey with #RISE-6G, the EU #H2020 project. For a deeper dive into our research check out the full paper at IEEE Xplore: https://lnkd.in/dax7VAWb Stay tuned for upcoming results! #RISE-6G #5G #6G #WirelessCommunications #IEEE #Research #Innovation CNIT - Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione UNIVPM
