Explore one of the latest papers published in the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers (Volume 70, Issue 10, October 2023) titled "Flat-Group-Delay RF Planar Filters With Transmission Zeros Using Transversal Circuits." The paper presents new designs of RF planar bandpass filters with flat group delay and multiple transmission zeros. These filters can be implemented using transversal circuits or directional power couplers. Proof-of-concept prototypes were designed and characterized, and the results show good performance. I am thrilled to share with you our last paper published in #IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics. The limitations of large conduction losses and single control scheme of unipolar charging piles are addressed in the following articles: “A Novel High-power Density and Low Conduction Loss Bidirectional AC/DC Charging Pile Scheme with Hybrid Charge-discharge Control Strategy” This scheme is based on phase-shifted+SVPWM modulation strategy to optimize conduction losses. To meet the current market demand for charging piles, a bidirectional hybrid charge-discharge control strategy with six control objectives is proposed. Early in my career I designed electric motors. At that time VFDs were still rare and there were a lot of questions around the responsibilities of the motor and drive designers on how to address compatibility issues impacting motor life and reliability. We have come a long way and it’s great to see thought leaders like Haider Razak, PhD, P.Eng and Manish Saraf dive deeper and explain more fully the science and solutions to these power problems.

I am happy to share that our most recent conference paper, titled "Study of Low-Frequency Interactions between Grid-Forming MMCs located on both sides of a Bipolar HVDC link", co-authored by Pierre Rault, Carmen Cardozo, and Prof. Jef Beerten, is now accessible on IEEE Xplore. In this paper, we illustrate the presence of low-frequency interactions between the AC sides of grid-forming converters situated at opposite ends of a bipolar HVDC link interconnecting asynchronous systems. Excited to announce a major milestone! My first-authored paper, "Cascaded Sliding Mode Voltage Controller and Model Reference Adaptive Current Controller for Regulating a MIMO DC-DC Boost Converter," is now published! 🎉 This accomplishment wouldn't be possible without the incredible guidance of Professor Naseem Daher. Under his supervision, I presented my undergraduate research on power electronics and industrial automation at the IEEE IMCET 4th Conference this year, showcasing my dedication to these fields. The research delves into the intricacies of voltage and current control in a MIMO DC-DC Boost Converter, showcasing innovative solutions through a cascaded sliding mode controller (SMC) for voltage regulation and a model reference adaptive controller (MRAC) for current regulation in a multiple-inputs multiple-outputs (MIMO) DC-DC boost converter. The journey from concept to publication has been both challenging and rewarding. I'm immensely grateful for this transformative experience that has shaped my understanding of these fields.
