In the past few weeks, I have been working with schools to conduct lesson observation focusing on #socialemotionallearning #differentiation #lessonplanning #classroommanagement and #contentmastery Of the 5, our data shows that content mastery and lesson planning are key to ensure teachers are able to manage the class and deliver the content. My fundamental belief in helping teachers to be effective is to be practical, have strong subject knowledge and experience to guide them and more importantly understand the context teachers are in. Avoid being presciptive, vague and general. Following my observations, we then work in their professional learning group centering on one theme till teachers find confidence but not perfection. In our latest discussion, we deep dive into ‘ scaffolding’ an approach in lesson planning to get student be independent in their learning. Empowering teachers continue to be my passion and focus as I strongly believe n #SDG 4 that looks at teacher quality as the key determinant to students’ success. #teacherleadership
