SILVERSTONE – Link Bridge With the British Grand Prix taking place this coming weekend we thought we would look back at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel which RG Group constructed and specifically the installation of the 80m link bridge that connects the Hilton Garden Inn hotel to the Silverstone International Conference & Exhibition Centre. The bridge was designed and built by J&D Pierce Contracts Ltd involving an asymmetric warran truss to offset footfall induced vibrations, tubular framing and spider fixings to accommodate faceted glass facades and smart temporary works involving pretensioned shores and piles to avoid track constraints. With cladding and glass pre-installed, the bridge was erected in three module sections from access provided on one side of the race track. Keep a look out for the glazed bridge that spans the Hamilton Straight start-finish line during the qualifying sessions and of course during the big race on Sunday. #rggroup #Silverstone #JandDPierce #LoveConstruction
