Mirror mirror on the wall...who are the coolest employers of them all? *** For several years, I've spotlighted "Best Workplaces" across the PNW. Spookily, the granddaddy list (Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For) only features three PNW-based companies this year. Eek.* Congrats to Slalom (12), Perkins Coie LLP (39), and Tanium (77). I'm trying to figure out why the number is down. There were five PNW-based entries in '22 and four in '21 (all headquartered in Washington). Hmm. Economists, labor experts, and career scientists are working hard on this issue. I've also called an astrologer. Suffice it to say, there are alternative lists. For example, Built In's lists for 2023 have proven interesting. Zippia also provides "Best Company" rankings for darn near every city in the country. Any of these aforementioned lists can be sorted on a macro-micro basis (e.g. take a big-picture look at national stack ranks or dig deep into specific metro areas). Maybe it's just me--the more of these lists I see over the years, the more it feels eerily like Old Guard saying hello to New Guard. *** Extra Credit: Build a hauntingly good Venn diagram comparing and contrasting the lists. Please use orange and black primarily. Let's discuss next time. *** Fortune: https://lnkd.in/gMyGSEJz Built In: https://lnkd.in/gii4xNRU Zippia: https://lnkd.in/gNWbE43R *** #bestplacestowork #hiring #careersearch #careerstrategy *** * Sorry, Oregon and Idaho, no entries for the '23 Fortune list. But I think Nike, Dave's Killer Bread, and Micron Technology deserve honorable mention (to name a few).

In our minds, we often assume that we need to be 100% better than who we are. Need I remind you, the BEST companies in the world (F500) only grow at 8-12% per year, on average. You are not as good as them. Don’t be silly. Just be 1% better next year.

The measure of our success will not be in £, but instead in the impact we have for our team, for society, and for the future. We’ve taken a more cause-and-effect perspective on success. As we look toward the next three years, we are committed to achieving a series of impactful and measurable goals that reflect our human-first ethos. Through our client partnerships in 3hree 2wo Creative and SciMed Consulting, we are able to effect positive change in the lives of patients. Through the success of those partnerships, we generate the capital to reinvest into initiatives that further effect positive change for our team, for society, and for a sustainable and better future. This list is not the measure of success, it is what we will secure with success.

On this day of the summer solace. Lets reflect on the importance of resilience. The resilience of Stonehenge, and the creative renditions that were created afterward. Teaches us about enduring through time and adapting to changes. For professionals like you in recruiting and healthcare staffing, this resilience translates into the ability to navigate industry shifts and maintain a strong candidate network despite challenges. For example, adapting your engagement strategies to incorporate virtual tools can help sustain candidate relationships, much like Stonehenge has sustained its legacy through centuries.

1dYour mission is to inspire a love of learning? And for this, you’ve received an award? How bizarre. During my short stint at Right At School , I was instructed by supervisors that it is *not^ our job to teach. The projects we would have kids do included papier-mâché and coloring. I was told this when trying to instruct Jeremy on how to write his name on the back of the drawing he made. Nobody had taught him how to write his name! Most of what goes on there is supervised play outdoors, providing them access to the playground and telling them “don’t run out the slide“. Very restrictive and uninspiring for the kids, I remember.
