🍻 BrauBeviale 2023: Is It All Worth It? 🤷♂️
Hello everyone! Just back from BrauBeviale – what a ride!
From setting up to breaking down, I saw it all. This year was a bit different, though. Due to multiple Covid cases, our team was short-staffed, so I jumped in wherever needed – from the build-up team to the kitchen crew and finally, the breakdown team.
Despite being busier than usual and not having much time to explore other stands, the experience was surprisingly rewarding. The few conversations I did have were meaningful, leading to some interessting new connections.
We faced challenges, sure, but we also proved our resilience.
We managed to make the event a success, despite the setbacks. And honestly, overcoming these obstacles together made this experience even more memorable. 😁
But let’s face it. Was it worth the effort?
👍 Good Points:
Easy to Chat: People are more open in person and on events like this one. It’s great for catching up and getting honest thoughts on past work.
Fresh Insights: It’s a front-row seat to what’s new and hot in our field.
Surprise Connections: Sometimes you bump into things or people you didn’t expect – and that’s never happening at your desk!
Team Bonding: Working together at these events really brings us closer.
👎 Not-So-Good Points:
Tough Logistics: Getting everything in place can be a real challenge.
High Costs: From setting up our spot to travel and hotels, it all adds up.
So Much Time: It’s not just the event – there’s a lot of prep and follow-up work too.
🔍 What I Noticed:
Quality over Quantity: Acts create engagement during quieter periods but of a lower quality.
Big Screens – Yay or Nay?: Big displays grab attention, but smaller ones are better for face-to-face explanations. - So one should be enough
Efficient Showcasing: Optimizing logistics is crucial for balancing cost and value.
Hands-On Experience: Showcasing our newest systems hands-on gets the most traction.
Visual Appeal: Videos and imagery are ideal for grabbing attention and supporting explanations.
In the end, despite the hurdles, the value of genuine connections, hands-on experiences, and the buzz of being at the heart of industry innovation reaffirms my belief that yes, trade fairs like BrauBeviale are indeed worth it, adding a unique and irreplaceable dimension to our professional lives.
I’m really curious: Do you think trade fairs like this are still worth it in our industry? What’s your experience?
