Pakistan has set a world record for being the number one country in the world for not approving a single KW of cheap $¢4.5/kWh of wind and solar electricity projects, since year 2016.This is a shame, considering that 60% of Pakistan's electricity is generated using imported fossil fuels, at a tariff of $¢12-14/kWh. Additionally, 70% of cities, towns, and villages in the country are subjected to 10-20 hours of blackouts. The country pays Rs.2000 billion to power plants as capacity payments annually. It's time for Pakistan to take action towards a more sustainable and reliable energy future.
