Industry members went to Capitol Hill to explain how agriculture producers and rural America will benefit from incentives to increase their propane storage. More propane storage for farmers on-site will alleviate downstream impacts like those faced in 2013-14 when propane retailers delivered 235 million more gallons than the previous year just to meet fall grain drying demand. Summary: Innovasea, a US aquaculture technology company, has added an AI-based biomass estimation tool for Atlantic salmon to its suite of aquaculture solutions. The tool, called BiomassPro, uses AI to estimate the size and weight of fish stocks in real-time, allowing farmers to optimise production and reduce feeding costs. Innovasea performed field trials of BiomassPro at Atlantic salmon farms in British Columbia, Canada, and found it to be highly effective. #throwbackthursday - STRUVITE!! We're asked all the time to test suspected struvite build-ups in gas lines. Nine times out of ten it isn’t struvite and instead we find that the deposits are sulphur based, or they’re just deposits of dried digestate. We do sometimes see struvite, and it's usually in ammonium rich feeding regimes for example with a lot of poultry litter. We have several recommendations for combatting this. A first for the ColiMinder: monitoring the inlet to a large seawater desalination plant! After a successful evaluation of the ColiMinder at the Water Corporation in Perth/Australia, it is installed at their #Desalination Plant in Kwinana. Alongside the exisiting water quality instruments, the ColiMinder is monitoring #Enterococci levels in the raw water intake and thus helps the operators to better understand and react on the dynamics of #fecalcontamination levels in sea water. A huge #thankyou to our great #distributionpartner for #Australia, Phil Krasnostein for initiating this interesting installation.
