Love. Get out there and vote! 💪
Some of you know that when I'm not working to support the team at Steyer Content, I'm working to get out the vote. To that end: this image is sized for Facebook and free for the taking. (Rocks painted by me and my kids, bowl made by my late mom, photo snapped by my husband.) #GOTV

Attention, Bay Area! We're headed your direction!
Bay Area People: Join us for a Steyer Content social hour in San Jose! We are excited to share that Tony Batista, Joshua Krenz and I will be in the Bay Area together this fall, and it's a top priority for us to gather with our Steyer friends and colleagues in the area. This is not specific to those currently in our orbit, either; bring a friend too, who wants to learn more about what we do! Whether you are up for games and a little friendly competition (bowling, pool, skee-ball, shuffleboard, cornhole… they have it all, really!) or prefer to just relax and chat from the sidelines, we would love to spend time with you face-to-face! When: Monday, September 23rd, 5:00 PM Where: San Pedro Social, Downtown San Jose RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gHd_cbdF And if you are new to learning about Steyer and the work we do best, check out our website: https://www.steyer.net/. I may be biased, but it's a great place to work. We look forward to seeing everyone who can make it! ✨

Six thoughts on succession, from experience-- link in the comments: "The right time for leaders to pass the baton is a) long before they feel ready b) slightly before the next generation feels ready and c) WAY before there are broad calls for a change. [...] Will it feel risky? Sure but no more so—and I would argue WAY less than—running an organization that depends on any one person to endure." -- Kate Gace Walton

Join us to shine a spotlight on one of our talented UX experts, Maeve Edstrom, who specializes in product leadership, content strategy, and systems design across various sectors. Maeve will share her personal journey through a traumatic postpartum experience, revealing how design thinking helped her navigate its challenges and find closure. Come and learn about the potential impact of design thinking not only in healthcare, but also on making sense of more personal experiences. Q&A to follow. Warning: This event discusses sensitive topics. August 14th, 2024, 12:00pm PST RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/gmWvHcbk

Does putting formal effort into building company culture (or connecting culture-building to the company’s broader financial goals) defeat the entire purpose of authentic culture? And what about folks who really just want to execute on tasks— how do they fit into the culture discussion? Kate Gace Walton offers a framework in Workings this week, and we’d love to get your thoughts:

How we're meeting the moment in 2024 and beyond, from one of our Co-CEOs Katelyn Hackett Reilly, in this week's Workings:
Good morning! Earlier today, I hit publish on a first pass at sharing the 2024+ Steyer Content vision and strategic direction Tony Batista and I have been circulating internally for some weeks now. A link to that writing is in the comments. The company is heading into our FOURTH decade, which is a huge accomplishment in its own right-- and we are again reshaping and rethinking to meet the moment. We'd love your thoughts and feedback, and I can be reached outside of LinkedIn at kreilly@steyer.net. #generativeai #contentdesign #contentstrategy #strategiccomms #docs #design #interactiondesign #humancentered #userresearch #infoarchitecture #contentqa #instructionaldesign #enterprisetech
